I cannot understand why there are so many bots on #reddit that do basically nothing but leave meaningless comments on posts. Is it purely a misanthropic effort to waste human resources and time?

I've been tinkering with a new piece of software I'm calling Conveyor, that provides creative tooling for 'painting' with agents. The artist controls scope, prompts, brushes, style, etc. The agent puts pixels on the canvas. #LLMs #AIArt

New Personal App: Double Take. Helps my partner and I pre-pick movies we both want to watch, so there's no debate on movie night. Hosted with Exhibit. #buildInPublic

My partner and I use Double Feature to share our movie interests. Here's an example of me using Exhibit to theme the artifact for Halloween. #BuildInPublic

Obsidian is the most unnecessarily complicated app I've ever used. But for some reason its very sticky.

Artificial intelligence: technology that enables computers and machines to simulate human learning, comprehension, problem solving, decision making, creativity and autonomy. Super intelligence: comes with sour cream and guacamole.

Trying to come up with new ways in Exhibit to modify interfaces with agents that doesn't feel like a you are texting a bot. #BuildInPublic

I made this little bean that sits on top of artifacts in Exhibit and replaces the header bar. Getting rid of the header bar makes it feel much less like you are running an "app in an app" but still gives you controls you need. #BuildInPublic

Another painting: "An impressionist painting of clouds above a river". I added the dock last minute. 18 agents · 6 messages · 27 broadcasts · 9 reference pictures · 54,744 ops

Another demo: "Aerial view of Sutro tower facing west toward ocean beach at sunset. Swirling Fog is rolling eastward across the city, down twin peaks."

If you want to know what agents do these days: this took around 30-60 minutes of active prompting max. It’s a mobile iOS app that runs Python via WASM, ships ruff and ty, has a debugger and iCloud integration including a UI library inspired by solid and turtle. And a REPL.

Alas! It's still B2B and we need a non-B2B solution for personal software. That's why I'm working on Exhibit.

Muse Spark 1.3 (1) vs. Opus 5.5 (2) on painting Van Gogh's Self Portrait. They have some work to do.

It’s hard not to fall into the “shotgunning” pattern when using LLMs, especially for design. I find myself asking it to create 10 iterations of the same thing, then pick a few I like and ask for 10 more iterations. It’s a fatiguing approach with limited creative input. #llms #vibeCoding

I've been toying with an AI Agent Painting Simulator. So far results are un-impressive. I'm trying to evolve the agent tools and prompts using a Darwinian Evolver, but it still sucks. I've long wanted to create painting robots. I hold out hope for better results! #LLMs #pi

I think someone's gotta write down what small/personal software is. If in big software most features are not being used by most users, then small software is when most users use nearly every feature. #PersonalSoftware #SmallSoftware

It seems like the art of restraint in interface design has been utterly lost in the age of AI. The temptation to vibe out a new feature is just too irresistable.

🤔 Would not have thought that Qwen3.8 27B would be _more_ expensive than DS V4 Flash. Must be a matter of demand? #llms

I'm working on improving WASM support for Artifacts in Exhibit. Although they should mostly just work, snapshotting an some sites like pokeemerald.com will run into CORS issues, so I've added support for inlining the WASM dependency. #SelfHosted #BuildInPublic

This gives a completely self-contained HTML file that you can run in Exhibit with no external dependencies. You could also just run it locally without a sandbox, given you trust it. The down side is the .html file is quite large. Considering the binary data stored in it.

Grocery Lists – another use-case for Exhibit. Shared state by default, makes it trivial to get up and running and shared with your family. I just need to get multi-user config working! #BuildInPublic #SelfHosted
