I've seen a few people posting stuff along the lines of "2026 is the year I'm going to read more!" My friend, don't pressure yourself. Even as an author, I say this: Read better, not more. Read what you love, stop reading something that isn't working for you. Don't aim for more, aim for pleasure.

Received the feedback from my beta reader for the Historian Assistant. Thanks Gaby. Lots of good stuff in her feedback. I’m picking through it and then It’s back to editing. See how fast I can get through it. Remember: Writing is rewriting. #writingcommunity

Bernie Sanders: "We have a president who is moving this country rapidly toward authoritarianism...to a large degree the future of this country rests with a small number of Republicans in the House & Senate who know better, who do know what the Constitution is about, and it's high time they stood up"

Just finished going through chapter six where the MC, Eileen, learns to fly the ship. It reads like crap. The pacing is wrong, not enough internal dialogue. Missing the motivation of why she has so much riding on this and the conflict of why the historian wants this. Well, time for a rewrite 😐

Just finished my edit run on the Historian Assistant. Now at 97K words. I’m going to go through it with ProWritinfAid and see what it finds. But I may give myself a few days break before diving in again. #writingcommunity

Prison would be a death sentence and her gang is working hard to raise the money for bail.  Eileen’s bail is posted, not by her gang, but by Mr. Clark. Through coercion, he teams her up with a late Earth historian. Clark takes them to an uncharted planet where they find

Many light years away from a long-dead Earth is Station One, which was the gateway to the Off World Systems, in a holding cell on this station sits fifteen-year-old Eileen. She is days away from being sent to prison to await trial.

You are up to date.
