We all wanna feel important, special, loved, and heard. It's human nature to continuously make progress and live a fulfilling life. Two resources that come to mind based on their practical value (to me): 1. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie 2. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

Maslow's Hierarchy helps you understand human motivation by explaining how people are driven to fulfill their needs, starting with basic survival and progressing to self-fulfillment.

Awareness is the first step to making the most of your life. You either stay in the blind or you keep learning to become aware of what you don't know. With knowledge comes new opportunities. But you must apply this knowledge for change to happen.

Actions speak louder than words. Talking is easy. But commitment, discipline, and sacrifices take effort. Therefore, let your actionsβ€”not your intentionsβ€”be proof of your dedication.

The more you read, the more your vocabulary grows. Reading a few pages each day will make you smarter. I still like to write and speak around the US 4th-5th grade level. I believe it's helpful for communication to be easily understood.

I have to remind myself to get out of my head. I can spend countless hours thinking in circles. Or I can just do something, anything to get unstuck. It feels good being unstuck.

Your mind is one of your greatest assets. If trained right, you can see enormous wealth opportunities and solutions to problems. It helps to become more aware of what you don't know. Reading books, having new experiences, and self-reflection are priceless.

What if everything you thought about quitting was wrong? Most of us are told never to give up. But after reading "The Dip" by Seth Godin, I now believe that quitting can be a smart move. This book talks about when to persist and when to quit so you can achieve big success. Let's dive in πŸ‘‡

Google focuses on big impact projects. If a product isn't meeting standards (like Google+ or Glass), they kill it. This frees up resources for the dipsβ€”the projects they use to dominate markets they're in. The lesson: Quit poorly performing projects. And assign resources where you can win big!

The last path is The Cliff. It feels rewarding for a time but ends in a sharp collapse. Gambling addiction is an example. You lose a bit, and eventually, you lose it all before you realize. If you're on a cliff, exit immediately! Only pursue the dips that lead to you becoming your best self.

Michael Jordan is a top basketball player who used rejection as fuel. He was cut from the varsity team in school. Through intense dedication and practice, he conquered the dip. MJ won six NBA championships! The lesson: Relentless dedication and overcoming rejection is key to beating the dip.

Seth presents three paths you can take. The first is The Dip. It shows the journey between starting and mastery. When you start something, it’s fun. But eventually, fun fades. Setbacks hit. The desire to quit comes. Understand that every goal worth achieving requires you to conquer a dip.

The second path is a Cul-de-sac. It's a dead end, comfortable enough to keep you trapped. An example is a job with no promotion opportunities. If you're in a cul-de-sac, recognize the dead end and strategically quit. Only pursue worthwhile dips where you can achieve mastery and success.

So, what do you focus on? Seth says to choose worthwhile challenges. He believes you should pick a field where you can become the best in the world. With many options and the temptation to stick to what's safe, finding the greatest opportunity for you to thrive is key.

The biggest rewards are for the best and most favored. Seth presents Zipf's Law: It says a small number of items or individuals account for large demand or success; the majority gets less. Ex. Vanilla dominates other flavors in ice cream sales. So, strive to become the "vanilla" of your field.

2. T - Triggers Triggers are stimuli that remind us of related ideas. Seeing the sun... you think of sunglasses. Things are likely to be shared if they're triggered by the environment. So, tie your ideas to daily routines, seasonal events, or trends so they’ll be top of mind for your audience.

I love playing chess! I'm not good; I just have fun.Β  The game teaches thinking and problem-solving skills.Β  One day, I noticed that unlike chess, life is more unpredictable. It can be unfair and complex.Β  So, the goal is to learn from your moves. And adapt to the ever-changing board of life.

6. S - Stories People share good stories. Stories are more memorable and engaging than facts alone. Humans have told them since ancient times. So, consider telling stories about your values or mission. Create engaging content. Add things like conflict, resolution, and character development.

You have the power to get smarter and become more aware. The day you stop learning is the day you stop growing. So, avoid ignorance. Expand your mind.
