Trump on the mother of Amy Acton in ad: "The mother looks like she's totally lucid. She looks very smart, actually." Time to again see if he can identify a camel, elephant and a shark.

NYT: "Senior officials" of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan met IN IRAN to discuss regional security. We sell weapons to all, one is in NATO and we have bases in one. They are meeting in a country we are supposedly at war with. I guess Trump-Rubio-Kushner are not FDR-Cordell Hull-George Marshall.

Even if the President is "chief federal prosecutor" as he claims (despite the history of this country and elsewhere) he is still constrained by the constitution and more significantly, given his behavior, the rules of the court. www.justsecurity.org/159847/serva...

The Federal Reserve Bank of NY's new report details the effect of the tariffs. It concludes tariffs 1) passed through 1-to-1; 2) were significant component of inflation; and 3) absent them inflation would decline; 4) prices will remain high. libertystreeteconomics.newyorkfed.org/2026/10/how-...

I have to say that the most disgusting part of Kimberly Guilfoyle's attempted grift with Eric Deters is not that it is another case of financial crimes engaged in by officials of this Administration, or that Guilfoyle obviously lied to investigators before her Senate confirmation, ...

Can you imagine the shamelessness of trying to shake down a person who asked her for a political fix by demanding $100,000 -- untraceable -- in one day. And then lecturing him on not using public texts -- the thing she used to communicate the shake down!

To paraphrase Fitzgerald and Hemingway: The rich and powerful in present day America are just like the rest of us, except they can plunder wealth unrelated to their worth, they have no morals and they care not a whit for anyone but themselves. Oh, yes, they pay less taxes than us.

while the government of that country has reduced Medicaid and subsidies to the ACA, while reducing the taxes of the useless, avarious parasites that swarm around this corrupt family at the head of the state.

or even that this woman, who passes out drunk at official Greek functions in public, can demand $100,000 from someone seeking political favors, but the fact that she can charge $100,000 on her Amex card for what? private planes? booze? jewelry? when 1/3rd of the workforce makes $15/hour or less.

The CT GOP just finished up their cocktails at the Water’s Edge Resort & Spa and vowed to change the course of CT this year so that the 300th anniversary of 7/4/76 will not be like the 250th. I guess that means 1) There will be the death penalty for gays as proposed by Republican endorsed ...

candidate for the 50th House District Jadon MacCormack, and 2) the state will be filled with "law enforcement" officers who mask their faces and don't wear ID and disappear their prey like a Latin dictatorship as Governor candidate Ray Fazio says he stands beside (behind?) and 3) whatever ...

idiocy that Sen. Rob Sampson of the malrepresented 16th District happens to imagine just before it comes out of his mouth. Yes, we used to have Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton, Livingston, Washington but now they are promising this group of Trump-wannabes for our future.

The LA Clipper have broken the glass and invoked the talisman: "Witch hunt!" Do they expect Donald Trump to pardon their punishment? Or do they just want him to deport Pablo Torre? Word to the wise: It is usually a bad idea, PR wise, to issue a white hot denial, when the evidence is so clear.

Rand Paul certainly burnished his reputation as a constitutionalist libertarian by pushing the contempt vote on Dr Fauci for exercising his clearly available constitutional right. Libertarians, like Paul, only want to restrict the "evil government" when it tries to tax them. They are Graspitarians.

Since discovering a serious primary opponent, Ned Lamont has begun to portray himself as tough on electric utilities and as pro-housing. After 8 years, CT has the 2nd highest electricity in the country and has the 4th most constrained housing market. VOTE JOSH ELLIOT or things will get worse.

The AFL-CIO once again is running with the status quo Dems. It endorsed the billionaire gov Lamont for reelection. Throwing its weight behind the anti-housing, foot-dragging governor, who vetoed the important act that would have provided unemployment insurance for striking union workers, ...

... the union shows once again that it is a dinosaur in an age where we need fleet footed cerebral organization that do more than just lie in swamps and chomp on plants. The AFL-CIO has really never shaken off the reactionary tendencies of the days when it supported the Vietnam War.

The notoriously corrupt Attorney General of Texas, having saved a child molester from trial and years of jail with a sweetheart deal is rewarded with an endorsement by the President on the same day that the latter watched the money of his Zionist friends swamp a loyal MAGA congressman for the sin...

of fighting to release the Epstein files, which Trump was for until he learned he was all over it and at least one member of his Cabinet. We used to think the ravings of Q about vast conspiracies of pedophiles were the cries of lunatics. We can now see that they were wishes that their heart makes.

Current leader of the Epstein class is not only going to ask the Supreme Court to review an ordinary defamation case that has gone to jury and reviewed by a federal appeals court, but is engaging the country's Department of Justice to avoid a civil judgment entered when he was not President.

Now that we have successfully completed the goals of Project Freedom (and it didn't take as long as the 30 Years War took!), I wonder what memorial is being planned. I suggest golden life sized sculptures of the two vessels our Navy successfully escorted. Perhaps on the sides of the Reflecting Pool?

CT Speaker Matt Ritter prevents even the most anodyne bill to help alleviate the housing crisis. He comes up with ridiculous hypotheticals to justify preventing ANY housing option. He will probably be happy only when CT decides that no one can move into any housing in CT.

So "Special Envoy" Paolo Zampolli has suggested that Iran be kicked out of the World Cup and replaced by Italy? I bet he didn't clear this through Super-Envoys Kushner and Witkoff who clearly would have substituted Israel for Italy.

Trump said we are in the Middle East to "help our allies." Whoever he is talking about should look to Japan, South Korea, Europe, UK, Ukraine, to see how Trump "helps our allies." But who knows? Maybe when he uses the word "allies" he means "those who line my pocket."

Which of the following do not belong? Pericles, Augustus, Charlemagne, Genghis Khan, Frederick II, Bonaparte, Metternich, Bismark, Salisbury, FDR, Mao, Trump

So tonight all of America's publication networks will be blaring out the "State of the Union" report by the one person probably least capable of assessing it, certainly the least knowledgeable about it.

... and if its rate of progress continued to diminish in the same ratio, how long would it take it to go fifteen hundred millions of miles?" And here is where Mark Twain made AMA history by giving this answer:

There was only one guy I have ever encountered whose AMA and his name (or fake name) was Mark Twain. In the 1860s Twain lived in San Francisco, and wrote columns for the papers there. He wrote a column called "Answers to Correspondents" column in the Territorial Enterprise, and here is the best.

A correspondent named ARITHMETICUS asked this question: ""If it would take a cannon-ball 3 1/3 seconds to travel four miles, and 3 3/8 seconds to travel the next four, and 3 5/8 seconds to travel the next four, ...

The problem with the flattering the audience and attempting faux intimacy is that you have to have continual "content" (it used to be thought of as writing) as well as some kind of near connection with the donors. And so was invented the "Ask Me Anything."

AMA as it is now known throughout internetdom originally was created on Reddit (as are most things evil) but now is the preferred method of begging employed by podcasters. The questions are generally inane, and the answers are things no one really cares about. But constant engagement is necessary.

Much effort is expended to flatter the listeners to keep the clicks coming. All the listeners are "amazing" and the podcaster usually "loves" them all. The next step is to get them to join the channel or contribute regularly via Patreon.

The amount of manpower spent on getting people to donate in this country is probably the reason that only the "tech" giants make any money. They are also the only ones who seem not to advertise on podcasts. (They may be foolish in sinking their wealth in AI but they are not fools.)

Having committed each of the seven deadly sins, Trump is now planning on systematic violations of international law beginning with an act of war against Venezuela. I wonder if MAGA is happy about the way this guy is going about ending forever wars. A peculiar strategem to win the Peace Prize.

It is clear that this man no longer has any cognitive rudder except to flail out against anyone who is not his sycophant. It's humiliating that this country elected a man devoid of human values. It reminds me of the nadir of another American heel, when Joseph Welch asked "Have you no decency, sir?"

And when this man finally leaves this life, I hope those who think he should be canonized and Post Offices should be named after him ... I hope they remember this weekend. And the string of disgrace he covered his office with.
