My very first original (and not fanfic) story, The Sun Is A Dish Best Served Cold has been audiobook-ified by the marvelous Colyn of @coldopenstories.bsky.social and a team of talented voice actors! I'd like to tag them all, but I only have @stephswanquills.bsky.social on my list. #Booksky

"For what are we but founts of joyous wickedness?" Dang, @trenchcrusade.bsky.social was really cooking with this line in Carcass Front!

Hey John, thanks for the superb advice! I hope you don't mind, but I shared it with my fellow 40k fanfic writers over at @coldopenstories.bsky.social! (Including the newsletter sign-up link.)

🚨 SEVEN New stories have launched from our Original Worlds imprint! Now available at www.coldopenstories.com they're going to live rent-free in my head for months! Check out all the releases, and leave a comment on which story you'll be checking out first.

My story, My Name Is Roboute, is on here. 😍 I'm so proud of that little story, and the audio version of it exceeded all my expectations. I will forever be grateful to @coldopenstories.bsky.social for making it happen. Go and listen to some stories.

Hi @remedygames.com, been a fan of your works since Death Rally! I'm currently enjoying the absolute blast that is Alan Wake 2 and I was wondering: have you considered doing a DLSS 4.5 patch for the game? Looking forward to Control Resonant!

It's been awhile and I completely forget to post it here, but my #Warhammer40k T'au noir det'ect'ive series recently had its 11th Chapter released (the 10th was a hiatus notice). "Shooting Stars" features combat and intrigue, as well as ama'sec.

A bit late to the party, but the final episodes of The Young Sheldon (especially S7E13) caught me off guard. A painful, but satisfying conclusion to a series I really enjoyed watching. I was dabbing at my eyes with my hoodie the whole time. 🥲

Greetings fellow #TrenchCrusade fans! I'd like to invite you on a fanfictional journey across the Great War ravaged Europa. Jonathan Monroe, the World Gazetteer's young correspondent travels to Europa to report on the Great War, but no trip is without dangers! archiveofourown.org/works/78220901

Hang on… Does this mean… …the FIFA Peace Prize was bollocks AFTER ALL?!

Since the Trench Crusade rulebook arrived, I checked the publication of Uncanny Resemblance, my Trench Crusade fanfic - April, 2022. The next TC fanfic to appear on AO3 is in May, 2024. I was way ahead of the times there. :D Sure, much if it is no longer lore compliant, but the vibe's there.

IT HAS ARRIVED! PRAISE THE METACHRIST! #TrenchCrusade

Guess which courier service got so totally overwhelmed it even appeared in the news? That's right, the one that's delivering my Trench Crusade rulebook! I suspect the Cult of the Black Grail is behind this foul treachery!

Happy to have my story in this collection! Considering it was a last minute idea in the middle of a very busy season, I'm glad it came out the way it did.

Trench Crusade physical rulebook is on its way apparently! Will refreshing the package tracking site make it arrive faster? I've no idea, but I'm about to find it.

Trench Crusade physical book by the end of November?

Finally watched Nosferatu (2024). I am still under its spell. It was absolutely perfect, the acting, the cinematography, the sound design, everything! Rarely do I come across a horror that doesn't miss a beat and delivers not just up to, but even beyond my wildest expectations. Bravo!

Here's a spoopy poem I wrote. Performed by the awesome Marchand. 💚 😈💀 youtu.be/3dDrlUQ9knQ

Some phenomenal photography of some phenomenal cosplay!

It is very much a NIN day. Commence depression! Full speed ahead!

#Wizzair -rel Nizzába utazni olyan volt, mint sajtreszelővel rejszolni. Enyhén szórakoztató, de leginkább fájdalmas. Oda-vissza több késés jött össze, mint levegőben töltött idő.

To your keyboards! Halloween is just around the corner and that's your deadline to submit your Warhammer Fast Fiction story with the Prompt the Enemy Within! The link is posted in the OG post! Check out details on the website!

Hollywood agencies looking to sign an AI actor - says the news headline. People keep wondering how stupid things can get, and the Universe is mandated to answer the question each and every time. Stop asking for more!

This is but a silent shout into the empty void, yet it needs to be said: Negativity farming has become the social media norm, and it's exhausting. Every site wants me to be outraged all day, every day. Ad revenue has overwritten our right to peace of mind. Mankind deserves better than this.

Watched the new @jamesgunn.bsky.social Superman on HBO Max yesterday, as I've missed it in cinemas. The start felt weird, as if I missed something (classic Xth MCU movie feels), but then it all slowly clicked into place. The praise it earned is well deserved and I look forward to more DCU!

In other news, I'm using @storytellingco.bsky.social's excellent September Short Story Challenge to write a new original story, which I plan to submit to the one & only @coldopenstories.bsky.social!

Yay, there's an update about the @trenchcrusade.bsky.social physical book! I was planning to make it my summer reading (would've been a bit odd on the beach), but I guess I'll spend the candlelit winter evenings digging into heretical lore. And plotting fanfics. Lots of fanfics.

Started watching Harley Quinn on HBO Max and it's wildly hilarious. Glad I gave it a shot.

Ok, hear me out... A Lord of The Rings remake, but with these two taking the One Ring to Mordor.

Thunderbolts* finally came out on Disney+, so that was tonight's entertainment. And I enjoyed it. Always had a passion for underdogs, and the movie delivered on that premise. It also had way more heart in it than Brave New World. Now I wait for Fantastic Four and Superman to arrive to streaming.

short about working at the coast guard

SO CHUFFED! Absolutely GORGEOUS Saints of the Imperium boxset celebrating the Sisters of the Battle, with @andyclarkauthor.bsky.social's Celestine, David Annandale's Ephrael Stern and The Triumph of Saint Katherine, by me. www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articl... #warhammer #warhammercommunity

Watched The Ritual (2018). I want to say it was simple, but I think pure might be a better word for it. It built suspense steadily, didn't overdo jumpscares and the monster's reveal didn't dislodge my immersion. A well iterated horror with all the things that I love about the genre. Recommended!

Ey yo Necron homies! Check this out!

The new Votann post about Gräf01 on #Warhammer Community mentions an ad-hoc Kin organisation called the Grudgeband. I am happy that term exists now, because it perfectly describes Voidmaster Khar Drindal and the Kin crew of the Dhlaza Marka. #Warhammer40k 40k.coldopenstories.com/mining-accid...

This IS the weirdest timeline! I hadn't been able to set up Secure Boot for quite awhile (MS tech support suggested I do a full purge and a fresh install) and Battlefield 6 prompted me to look at it again. Lo and behold, using EA's Secure Boot tutorial, I solved it! It's bloody working! SO WEIRD!

I haven't posted any music recently, so here's something that popped up at random while listening to Falling In Reverse, Bring Me The Horizon and Electric Callboy. youtu.be/o5hWEa1w6Z8

"Huge thanks to dlood for helping me find my proverbial center in the form of short stories." I never expected the short stories I post on AO3 to inspire a fellow writer, but it seems the day has arrived. And I'm glad it did. Keep on writing and creating, my friend!

After marinading in the #BlackLibrary for the past year, it was time to try writing some! Very proud my story “A Peaceful Transfer of Power” was an Editor’s Choice in the latest @coldopenstories.bsky.social flash fiction competition. 🤘 40k.coldopenstories.com/a-peaceful-t... #Warhammer #BookSky
