Utterly predictable. Also criminal fraud and holy shit, should it be prosecuted to the hilt.

UPDATE: I found Wedgewood’s Kalshi account. He goes by Andrew and has been insider trading using the fake polls that he was posting. I reported this to Kalshi, hope they do something about it @gelliottmorris.com

Folks, I'm not remotely exaggerating here when I say my response to "how could they not have extradited him" is "you mean that thing that happens a million, not really hyperbole, times a year?"

T. Greg Doucette@gregdoucette.bsky.social

This is a pretty common thing actually. People with pending felony charges leave the jurisdiction (e.g. flee the state), and everything just goes on pause There are rarely ever efforts to find the person, short of something like a murder charge If they're incidentally stopped, they're arrested

I genuinely don't understand why they aren't *campaigning* on this. He's net unpopular and he's the literal devil towards your base, including the "earn my vote" accelerationists.

Mark Chadbourn@chadbourn.bsky.social

Democrats are preparing to investigate Musk if they win control of the House in November, Politico reports. Potential probes would focus on his DOGE leadership, federal job cuts, alleged data breaches, government contracts and Starlink’s role in Ukraine.

Federal choice of law for an agreement is fucking yikes material.

Annnnnnnd there's the stinger. Folks, if you see this specific language in a terms of service, the site its on is not a real thing. This is a 100% clear dead giveaway, EVERY SINGLE TIME. The lawyers know why.

I'm ngl, it sure seems like a lot of Rs in lean D races have completely and utterly given up. Some of the weakest schedules and fundraising numbers I've ever seen. Definite mood of defeatism, and it's spreading.

"I want to be a lawyer but I can't pass the bar, but I'm not gonna let that stop me" is petulance, and I'm not going to pretend it isn't. We all learn in law school the professional, titles included, follow the license. I won't coddle the people who want/can't get one. Stakes are too high.

Like, I'm fine with, say, diploma privilege. It's a privilege. It's extended. You don't just get it because you think you deserve it. That's entitlement, of a toxic nature. You knew the road.

Not one person who tries to claim it based on a degree ever says "I'm a lawyer but based on my JD I'm not licensed anywhere that's why I'm not saying attorney." They say "I'm a lawyer". The point is to mislead, to claim perceived prestige they didn't earn but feel entitled to.

You cannot, actually.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Zacharia: "A lot of the misinformation, miscommunication is around the fact that I labeled myself a lawyer. I consulted for a long time many people in the field -- 'Is it ok if I label myself a lawyer?' -- and they said, 'Absolutely. You can call yourself a lawyer. You have a JD'"

These attempts at ratfucking are indeed signs of desperation, but they aren't funny- this shit works, which is why its so, so dangerous for the goddamn government to be lending the assist.

Talarico is running in a red state. He has momentum but his road is narrow. He's trying to win a race by 1-5 points, he doesn't have any margin for error. For 2 weeks he's week on something like the defensive, over bullshit, for the very first time since he started running. It's heinous.

It's also working. His most recent averages show, pretty steadily, the loss of a point or so of his lead. He doesn't have a point to lose. It's not the lie, its the nakedness of it and the AI usage that has to be the messaging. This cannot entrench as part of R operations D candidates just tank.

Against Rep Omar, they're trying to manufacture a stick, out of thin air, to hit every single candidate running with *because they don't have any*. Having a weapon and a talking point in the final weeks would *absolutely* be of use, if anything just to keep candidates on message.

Not for nothing, the investigation following accusations into McKeever, performed by Munger, Tolles, and Olson, is just about the best you'll ever seen a law firm do here: share.google/YPTHzHXn3YzP... In case you want context on what she did and why this is risible.

New: Disgraced Cal coach Teri McKeever is trying to publish her memoir while 17 of her former swimmers are actively suing the UC Board of Regents for the psychological torment she allegedly inflicted on them www.sfgate.com/collegesport...

Calling it bullying and hostile behavior is selling it just a bit short, is all I'll say. This wasnt a "coach coaches too hard and thus goes too far" story.

The same way the rest of us did, unfortunately. If you don't have privilege from generations back, you unfortunately have to work hard and achieve. Being a waiter and a mediocre basketball player at nearly 30 isn't going to take anybody very far.

I grew up in a set of challenging situations. Others had it worse but many had it better. I had to be decisive, creative, hard working, and I had to go the extra mile to get where I am. Unless privilege helps you skip the line, that's true of everybody. These guys just want to skip earning it.

Lawyers get some form of "testimony isn't real evidence!" like 20 times a year in online discussions. Meanwhile, convictions like Caleb Flynn are won on the stand every day. Like, most convictions. No idea where this myth that you nees video if something for it to have happened came from.

I think folks want it to be this massive Rocky 4 moment of "If I can change, you can change", and true, it's rarely that. But there are a whole host of outcomes and responses that are still useful, even defensiveness.

"It's just a joke!" "How?" "*inanearglebargle* WOKE!" "Seems kinda creepy to me, but okay." You don't have to turn it into a TEDTalk. In fact, don't. But people don't like conflict and inserting even a little friction like this can have powerful effects.

She's an author. An *incredible* author It's her job. People work for money. News at 11. The only artists who refuse to "sell out" as the socks having a go at her define it are the artists nobody ever asked.

So apropos of nothing in particular, let’s talk about media tie-in novel pay vs. original work pay, shall we? Let’s say you write a novel. It’s set in your own world, your own characters, and titled The Original. You get a book deal! Look at you go!

I've thrown passes. This is maybe the most athletic catch I've ever seen. Levels, plural, more difficult than the OBJ one-hander.

CJ Fogler@cjzero.bsky.social

I don't know this Ja'Marr Chase catch is even physically possible

People will do everything in their power to duck jury duty then come up with very stern opinions about how a jury should do its job. Go participate in justice unless health, childcare, or desperate poverty is stopping you. It's important and often doesn't last long.

See, the thing that's tough about jury trials is that convincing many people of the truth or falsity of a thing is difficult all by itself, to say nothing of their being an adversarial party pushing them the other way. Weird shit can happen.

It's like *evverybody else* in the doc is doing a whole different genre than she and her husband are trying to do. I finished the whole thing and still don't quite know if she's in on the joke or if she isn't.

I have this bizarre recurring dream where I'm in school, it's finals time, but I'm pretty sure I have been to one single class all year. I won't call it a nightmare because my reaction is always "lol this is gonna go poorly"

I strongly recommend not boxing through school, holding pencils becomes hard.

The way things are going with AI, it's probably a smart move for ambitious students to work on their penmanship.

Man, if there's one thing I'd *really* like to see people left of center stop doing because it turns off literally everybody, it's diagnosing people you don't know. You can say you disapprove of a behavior without doing that, and should.
