This account once was lost, but now is found thanks to the amazing grace of some people at Bluesky. I also have alternates now! Social Democrat, at least in the short to medium term. Follows are not necessarily endorsements.

I feel like more people should have noticed that in 1380, during the hundred years war, the kings of England and France were 13 and 11 years old respectively. Kind of makes it seem silly that both countries’ armies were fighting over which middle school-aged kid would rule them!

I said this before and I’m sure others have too, but I am putting this out there for those who need to see it. Solidarity is not a suicide pact. If you think it is, you are making the people and institutions that hold down marginalized groups very happy.

25 years ago today, I was in my 1st period social studies class when the two towers were hit. No one in the class heard about it. I then went to 2nd period geometry and still didn’t hear anything. We had a standardized test coming up and we were all focused on that. (1)

Addendum: My father (who was likely as autistic as I am 😃) loved airplanes, but he died a year before due to lung cancer. (He didn’t smoke!). I remember the first my mom told me after saying she saw the second tower get hit, was that my dad would hate to see commercial airplanes used as weapons.

Then I had fourth period gym class and we were walking around the track. Here I heard about the pentagon. I first said “well that was a coincidence!” And someone said “No, it was a terrorist attack.” This is when I first heard that BOTH of the WTC towers had been hit. (4)

The rest of the day consisted of lunch, band class, and English. No one talked about anything else the rest of the day. Marching band practice was cancelled so i went home. My mom was relieved for me to come home, and I turned on the tv. Every single cable channel had coverage of the attack (5)

The pentagon attack and flight 93 crashed by then. I went to third period biology. I remember we had to go to a different classroom than usual and we had to take a quiz. People were talking a plane crash into a building, but I didn’t hear any more details than that. (2)

We took our quiz and at the end of class, my teacher said that the world trade center had just been hit by a plane. She didn’t say it was a terrorist attack or that both towers were hit. I and I assume most others in the room still thought it was an accident.

I‘d better head this off at the pass. I support trans equality. I think trans healthcare should be free like all healthcare. I think children should be allowed to transition and I am fine with trans people playing the sport that matches their true gender, although my credibility there is (1)

I said that letting Vivek Ramaswamy win in Ohio would be far worse than Amy Acton and that while the New York Times‘s opinion section is mostly horrendous, it is still the paper of record in this country and expecting Ken Jennings to. (8)

Boycott it on his own seems a bit unreasonable. He was snarkier than he had to be to Gwen Pepperoni and it would be classy of him to apologize, but I don’t think he deserved to be dogpiled either. In conclusion fuck J.K. Rowling. (fin)

do not take this as an attack on the trans community writ large and please do not harass any trans people in my name. Every trans person I’ve met in real life has been much nicer than most I’ve met online. I understand if you feel ignored but (6)

My listening to you doesn’t mean I’m going to agree with you on everything. I would appreciate not being called some of the things I’ve been called. If you’re wondering about the disagreements (7)

I don‘t want to be praised or called an amazing ally for having a discussion, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask for a little grace if I say something wrong. These have been like Maoist struggle sessions and (real 4)

I don’t think it‘s unreasonable for me not to want to put myself through it. I don’t want to tone police and I don’t want to seem like I’m demanding respectability politics, but that doesn’t mean acting like an asshole is a good thing. Please do not take (5)

Limited because I don’t really care about sports that much at all. I know that trans americans are probably the most oppressed people in America right now (although there’s a lot of competition for that at the moment) and I hold grace for trans people who lose their tempers (2)

But twice in the last few weeks I have had arguments with trans individuals online and they have quickly gotten very personal. A lot of cursing and calling me a fascist and so on. I disagreed with these people but I thought I was doing so politely. (4)

As of today, I have outlived my father. He died young, but it is a surreal feeling knowing the man I viewed as so much older than me was never as old as I am now. I also have an odd feeling of survivor’s guilt.

I see the hasbara bots have started reposting my posts with criticism of the leftist-Palestinian movements. Do not take these as an endorsement of Zionism. Israel is the worse of the two sides in this conflict, and it will remain as such until every settlement in the West Bank is dismantled.
