Good thing we got a back up striker in the summer. Need to protect our £80m investment by not playing him so he doesn't get a worse injury. Save him for when we really need him....the relegation battle at the end of the season.

In part three of our series, we look at how City were able to spend astonishing amounts on transfers across nine years www.nytimes.com/athletic/766...

I don't fully understand how but people are using A.I. to strip mine software and video games to make them available for free online. No doubt we will see very strict regulations come into effect sooner rather than later.

A popular Chinese fitness influencer admitted to breaking rules during last month's Berlin Marathon after investigators determined she used a bicycle for part of the race.

Pep knew. He also orchestrated player doping. Whilst I agree with Holloway generally, I'm not sure why he's protecting Guardiola. Maybe it's a bald alliance.

Match of the Day {bot}@bbcmotd.xmirror.bot

"Get lost! How dare you ruin what's part of our country, our DNA in this country." Ian Holloway had some very strong words when asked about the Man City charges.

They're fucking embarrassing. Everything is tainted. One bald cheat swapped for another. Check the players' bloods. Check their payments to referees. Fuck all of them.

Ben Jacobs@jacobsben.bsky.social

🗣️ Enzo Maresca asked if he feels Manchester City's achievements are tainted? "Absolutely not..." Q: Did you speak to Sheikh Mansour? "I spoke with the club, for sure, and we trust [the club]. Probably the right moment to speak about that is when we are going to win this appeal.”

60 pts is nothing. Unless it's on top of a huge fine & the owners having to sell. Then City have to compete financially on their own merits. It's also just small enough that they can build a siege mentality for the season to stay up. It should be so massive that none of it was worth it for anyone.

Its funny city fans crying corruption cause United is 1 billion in debt & questioning why our owners arent being looked into, when ALL United fans would happily see our corrupt owners told to pack up & sell the club, personally id even let citys charges slide if it meant we'd got the glazers out😁

I can’t lie, the reaction of Man City’s ownership in the last week has radicalised me into wanting the punishment to be as harsh as possible. This time a week ago, I thought some of the punishments being proposed sounded excessive. But the lack of contrition makes me think there should be no mercy

and all the money spent on players, will those transfers be ruled illegal and lead to Villa reimbursing City with that £100m for example

Chelsea of course also cheated to get this guy on board. There should be asterisks against their names too. Just cos the new ownership admitted to it, doesn't mean they didn't cheat. Every title they won is also tainted.

Going off this chart we’re supposed to believe City’s legal revenue went from £97m to £227m between the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons?

And even if that were true, why didn't they present that evidence during the investigation? They're a cancer and need to be excised from English football.

Shane@thistimesurely.bsky.social

So their assertion now is that this additional sponsorship money didn’t come from the owners, it came from the Abu Dhabi government. Who they’ve always denied had any direct dealings in the club. Is that meant to be better? Does that douse the flames at all?

Criminal conspiracy to commit fraud and in the process avoid paying tax. Super stuff.

Dan Neidle@danneidle.bsky.social

Manchester City cheated Premier League rules, the Commission found. Did it also cheat HMRC? We've examined the decision and leaked Mancini documents. We think City likely failed to pay £12m in tax. There should be a criminal investigation. Thread:

We don't need document leaks to know Infantino is a scumbag. We live in an era where these people basically do what they want and get away with it. He's absolutely a cancer on the game.

Dr Farbod@emergencybod.medsky.social

Rui Pinto, the man behind the Football Leaks website, has posted a detailed allegation about Gianni Infantino’s role in UEFA’s handling of Manchester City and PSG in 2014, citing material revealed through Football Leaks. These are Pinto’s claims, and they’re worth reading in full below.

Ahahahahaha!!! I always said their numbers were stupid. How on earth did anyone think their commercial teams were SO good that they could match revenues of clubs with a century of history and success after 10 years? Especially when they can't even fill their stadium.

Astounding levels of cheating

It shouldn't be the last time at all. Not even close! They've been doing it for close to two decades. We should be rubbing it in their faces for a similar amount of time.

Shane@thistimesurely.bsky.social

On City for the last time (honest 😬). Reckon they have two options: 1. Admit to the wrong-doing and take their punishment. Which would potentially garner some acceptance. Or 2. Take the case to court, which they could win. But the club will never get respect for anything it’s done or will do again.

LOL at Pep's statement. Every single club Pep Guardiola has played for or managed has been linked to major off-field drama or massive structural controversy. It follows him wherever he goes. As a player he tested positive for nandralone & this followed him from Brescia to Roma.

View full thread

He was also paid millions to be an ambassador for Qatar'd world cup where there was a lot of controversy around workers rights, slavery etc.

And now at City they've been found guilty of financial cheating, their owners have paid referees for "work" and their players make miraculous recoveries from serious injuries.

Not often I agree with a Liverpool fan. The punishment has to be so severe that even the winning wasn't worth it & nobody would think to even try the same again. They need to also expand the investigation to the player doping & referee payments. Check Liverpool's asthmatics while you're at it.

He then played for a Mexican club with cartel links & money laundering accusations. While playing at Barcelona he tried to commit tax fraud with secret offshore accounts and he worked with Dr Segura under whose care many players tested positive for nandralone. Including him.

While he was manager of Barca the club paid millions to the VP of the referees committee. At Bayern he fell out with the club doctor because of injuries & performance. Presumably he wasn't using enough PEDs & Pep was upset that injuries were taking a normal time to recover instead of super fast.

If they've cheated and obfuscated in one area while believing they're innocent, not only is it likely that they continued to do it, it's highly likely they expanded their cheating. Perhaps into PEDs & referee tampering which, coincidentally, Pep has previously been caught for and/or associated with.

It's definitely not restricted to the time period that was subject to investigation. Also, cheats will expand methods if they think they're getting away with it. Investigate for PEDs & referee tampering. Pep is associated with cheating with PEDs, bribing referees & financial. Made for each other.

“As one source with knowledge of that previous Uefa case says, “it exposes them for exactly who they are and what they did”. Boom. That’s the divs reputation forever and a day….

Berrada and Wilcox can fuck off as well. Berrada was clearly involved and anything related to City on Wilcox's CV is built on a foundation of cheating.

Especially true because they seem to think they're innocent. So they most definitely continued past 2018 (or whatever the date was). Why would they stop if they think what they're doing is legit?

They're the ones that just don't "get" football. The only City fans I respect are the ones raging at their club. They know that those memories are tarnished even if the experience at the time wasn't. Additionally, part of the joy of winning is lording it over your rivals. They can't do that!

Shane@thistimesurely.bsky.social

Those City fans that were still insisting it was all worth it, will be reconsidering I reckon. 15 years of glory based entirely on cheating, in exchange for ceasing to exist as a credible football club. Hardly a price worth paying you’d have thought. Not got an ounce of sympathy for them.
