Emboldened by acquiring the rights for CONAN, Marvel took a chance on DOC SAVAGE OTD in 1972. Not terribly well-planned though, as #1 takes place in the present, but then, with nary an explanation, all others are wisely set in Doc's 1930 era. Lasted eight issues, but a 1975 b&w mag was stellar.
