I was wrong. Deltarune's Knight is Alvin. 100%. Spamton literally mentions communion when asking about the Knight and Alvin literally talks about communion to Kris (the 'sick' fruit juice) in Chapter 1. I'm losing my mind. This is hard evidence and I have seen NOBODY mention it.

Deltarune’s Knight COULD be Papyrus - A Thread I’ve seen a lot of people move away from this idea and I’ve come to a certain conclusion that could make this theory work. There’s a lot of hypotheticals and assumptions but bear with me for this.

He gets to be this hero, someone that helps to push this great prophecy forward and save the world. Gaster wouldn’t have told him the complete truth, but as long as Papyrus believed he was doing good, I think it would serve as good a motive as anything.

Obviously, we have yet to see Papyrus in the game and some people don’t like the idea of an Undertale character being the Knight, but I do believe that this at least makes sense and the pieces do fit together pretty nicely…if you assume a LOT of stuff, that is.

Why would Papyrus do this in the first place? If we assume that the Undertale characters retain their personalities in Deltarune, just with a different role in the story, I think it makes complete sense. Papyrus wanted to be respected, to be liked by everyone.

To be the great hero he always thought he was. Sure, he improves over the course of the game, but this isn’t a sequel to Undertale. It’s a parallel story. It makes sense to me that if Papyrus was at this point in Deltarune, he would agree to be the Knight instantly.

I don’t think he would have told them everything, but I’m going to say that Undertale’s Entry Number 17 is actually from Deltarune and the two characters he’s talking to ARE Sans and Papyrus. They would know about dark worlds but maybe not his motives.

This theory relies a lot on Gaster so we need to assume that W.D. Gaster is, first and foremost, crucial to Deltarune’s story. Second, that Sans and Papyrus are in some way related to Gaster. And third, that the personalities of the Undertale characters in Deltarune are the same between both games.

My idea is that having Papyrus be the Knight would be an interesting way to start to slowly introduce the idea of Gaster more directly into the game in a more natural way. Let’s assume that both Sans and Papyrus know of Gaster’s existence and maybe even know, to some degree, what he’s up to.

You are up to date.
