Midwestern Furs! beloved Cleveland drag king Heehaw is organizing a regional furry zine! seems like a great chance to discuss local happenings, or to share work that may be relevant to where we live. they're accepting a wide variety of work and submissions close November 1st. link: furmag.carrd.co

β€œDent Boy” is my newest zine and it’s up in my shop now #art #furryart www.dogpoison.industries/shop/p/dent-...

it’s been so long since i’ve lost sleep bc of good horror, but Laird Barron’s β€œMysterium Tremendum” got me yesterday. now i’ve got the dark fantasy/weird fiction bug

the last thing that simultaneously filled me with such wonder and horror was actually Brad Hock’s β€œHow to Bake a Breadling” the experience of reading that book was nothing short of entrancing for me.

gritting my teeth i Cannot let this turn into another collectors’ hobby i cannot afford. pulp mags continue to have me in a stranglehold

it’s the first stream-of-consciousness story i’ve written and the first story i’ve inked in dip pen. i am very proud of the art and the binding. pls buy one :)

my process for drawings has evolved in a very interesting way lately that’s informed by my past RSI from making Collegeville - i’m forced to diversify my process a lot bc drawing with one medium/in one position for too long makes me more prone to injury

tight sketch and inks feels better to do traditionally so i'll do that part over the printed sketch, and sometimes i'll finish rendering the piece that way too but sometimes (like with this one) i'll scan the lined drawing back in and finish the rendering digitally.

i like to leave that initial printed sketch partially visible, i feel like it adds a lot of extra depth and texture to the finished drawing... but yeah i just thought this would be interesting to share, i'm not sure how apparent my very janky process is to the average onlooker

rough sketch is a lot easier to do digitally bc i can move elements around easily and really nail composition and placement of things before putting in too much work so i'll usually do that and then print it out with very lowered opacity on a nice textured paper.
