makes me rather sad that trunk-or-treat is as widely adopted as it is and i understand why. it’s efficient and gives overprotective parents more reason to voice their concerns but it comes at the cost of a lot of the soul of halloween. admiring people’s decorations and whimsy

this isn’t to say that there aren’t benefits to trunk-or-treat, safety and accessibility for one. if you’re showing up to a parking lot its easier for disabled people to participate too, and everyone gets an equal pie’s share but it does fundamentally change the spirit of the holiday just a bit

in an ideal world, more houses would have ramps rather than steps to them, or at least more options for those that need assistance. i think my main argument here is that trunk or treat loses a lot of the soul that halloween had prior being in a parking lot isn’t as fun as door-to-door pillaging

it sucks to see them disband but also bioware has been in the shitter for a while. this was a ticking time bomb and yesterday was the day why did they put anthem on here. that and andromeda were the beginnings of the end for the company alone

god damnit that new finals update looks so peak but it’s a moral gray area with the announcers being AI specifically the actors were paid for their voice and (hopefully) receive royalties going forward, but on the other hand it does allow for dynamic commentary and it isn’t chatgpt fuck man. tough

i hate mass market genAI but this is like. it’s own localized instance and it’s clear they’re doing it as respectfully as they can but i’m still unsure on where i stand on this specific use case 10 years ago i probably wouldn’t have cared too much. 2026 fall plays games morally

i think i’m in my extreme sports lesbian arc of video games. i need less engrossing stories with rich narratives and world building i want girls on skateboards and snowboards being cool and fluid gameplay that i can just dick around with in other words i have ssx3 on pcsx2 and skate 3 on rpcs3

DK Bananza is reminding me of a principle that I’m glad to see in more smaller studios and indie devs, and it’s that games can be modest in scope and still enjoyable Not everything needs to be an open world, 25+ hour experience. You can equally as enjoy a 9-10 hour streamlined experience

It’s been enjoyable to play at my own pace and not feel like I’m wasting time looking for side stuff or extra bananas, but also not feeling bad for taking time to streamline the main quest i’m kinda tired of AAA games always needing to be open worlds. linear gameplay can be just as good

Don’t get me wrong, I love open world games. I spent hours in Cyberpunk doing as much as I could, but not every game needs to be like that, or at least not take that long to develop (and get to a functional state) I will defend the 7/10 game toll the day I die but Ubisoft open worlds are not it now

On this day 25 years ago, the Nintendo GameCube was released! A compact purple cube packed with classics like Super Smash Bros. Melee, Metroid Prime and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Nintendo GameCube Windows XP Theme

i really hope nintendo uses the mechanic in future splatoon singleplayers even just as a cameo, like how with side order it read your octo expansion save data genuinely might like them more than agent 8. the cutscenes make them really expressive and have a distinctive personality

geniunely believe starting a pixar movie group with some of my friends was one of the best decisions i ever made i have gotten so much deeper in friendship through watching animated movies that have heart to them. and also trauma bonding from cars 2
