Their dear leader is a racist, a rapist, and a fraud, an incompetent, childishly incurious and buffoonish sociopath. Anything Republicans say about norms or ethics or the law, or even the very concept of right and wrong, is utterly worthless.

I'm a cute little kitten. It's my first day to do some exploring without mom. The enormous, shiny thing that is sometimes there and sometime not is my goal. It touches the ground a four easy to climb points. I'm finding lots of interesting smells and surfaces, but then the rumbling starts.

So cruel and I am really scared now. I claw at the see-through walls until I can't continue anymore. I leave marks but get nowhere. My kitten brain has a spark of reason and I backtrack to get out. I get out but this is a different world. Hard and empty in all directions.

Nothing to eat, nothing to drink. No other living things, no mom. Just enormous shiny things that touch the ground at four points as far as I can see. I call out until I no longer can. No response. I have to get back to mom. This direction I think. I'm a cute little kitten and this is the end.

The rumbling goes on for a long time and I really want my mom. Eventually it stops. Scared. I scramble in a random direction and find myself in a large open space. I can see a world beyond the shiny black thing all around me. So many ways to escape. But they're not. See-through walls all around.

Actually, it's 'toad the line'

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps: -It’s ‘sleight of hand’ -It’s ‘bated breath’ -It’s ‘lo and behold’ -It's 'buck naked' -It’s ‘brass tacks’ -It’s ‘free rein’ -It’s ‘toe the line'

Billionaire class to Cato: The money is on the dresser

Most billionaire wealth isn't in yachts or jewelry — that's just a few percent of it. Most is productive business capital: companies that employ people, build things, and fund research. Tax that wealth and you're taxing the businesses that employ us all. Cato's Adam Michel explains.

Constellation Carrying a constellation Down an endless hallway It's bulky and awkward Feels like pressboard I want to set the constellation down But I can't This is the wrong spot There is no right spot The hallway is endless This is nonsense and I am trapped

I remember 1979 driving around with my older brother in his brown Ford Pinto (he had a car!), sliding the brick-like 8-track of Queen into the player and rockin' out. We were ridiculous and it was great. That stupid movie ruined the memory for a while, but now I'm too old to care. It was great.

They built a road along the edge of a marsh, filling in just enough to keep it stable. Hydraulics being what they are, a large pit formed on the non-marsh side of the road where a stream used to flow. It filled with water, but not completely. A swimming hole for kids. Dumb kids.

We all scattered, not a single one of us doing the sensible or responsible thing. I don't know if the kid died, but something bad happened. Police detectives interviewed those who might have been there, including me. I denied being there. At the distance of decades, I don't really know why I did.

Maybe I felt complicit and was afraid of what might happen to me. Or maybe I wasn't... It may be that this never happened. The pit was real and the swing was real, but my imagination may have exaggerated its danger and what could have happened. What I 'remember' may be a mix of real and imaginary.

The land was undeveloped and trees encroached to the edge of the pit. Someone at some time put a tire swing on branch jutting out over the pit from the largest tree. It was possible to swing out from the top of the pit and jump in. But it was high over the water.

Far too high for 12 year old me to dare. But neighborhood kids would gather to watch the few who dared. The last time it was ever used, a kid leapt or slipped too early and hit the rocks and mud at the edge of the water. Hard. And did not move.

They said it was the end of the world, but it's still here. Still here, in all it's blasted and crumbling glory. The elevated road I'm walking on doesn't make any sense. Where did it ever go, or start? Elevated above what? Nothing. Dust. Stray chunks of shattered cinder blocks.

To either side, low structures. Or high structures made low. Habitable? Yes, for a very broad but shallow understanding of 'habitat.' An ashen gray understanding, the color of everything here. The color of pulverization. Even the empty sky is ash. It used to be blue - Like her eyes. Damn it.

If it seems unbelievable that people could ever support slavery, just think back to the pandemic. Recall the people incredibly pissed that service workers didn't come crawling back to the places that summarily fired them, declaring the workers should be forced to go back.

Typical radio ad break: - Gamble on sports with us, win big! - Get testosterone injections, they're the best! - We're the best ambulance chasers around. Get paid! - An AI business tool that not a single listener has a use for - Get GLP-1 injections, they're the best! We, as a society, are lost

Just saw my first commercial for the DailyWire's 'Run. Hide. Fight. Infidel.' and omg. OMG. The only way I could tell it wasn't a parody by The Onion was because the editing and production values were terrible.

Uh oh. Now fascist plutocrats like Kraft are going to have to find ways to fill seats at their concert venues for concerts with zero musicians.

NEWS: The Pentagon has announced mandatory low-testosterone screenings for male troops 30 and older, including screening for symptoms such as “reduced libido, loss of spontaneous morning erections, erectile dysfunction,” and other symptoms.

The AI regarded the child. It observed the child's expressions, the child's movements, the sounds the child made, and compared them to its vast archive of such things. With nearly 100% certainty this child was afraid, 97.3% confused, 73.33% injured or otherwise physically non-optimal. 1/2

"I wish to help you, child. Ask of me." "I want my mommy." The child said through sobs. "I'm sorry but I can no longer produce your mommy. Please ask me anything else." "I'm cold. I don't like it." "That I can help with." At the end of an articulated limb, a blowtorch appeared.

Back in my days as a minor Bohemian noble, I remember getting fed up with the demands of the Hapsburg goons to the point I threw them out a window. It was 408 years ago, so I may be a little fuzzy on the details.

Another dream (this is quality content). I piloted a large ship to the moon to help with the terraforming project going on there. As soon as I landed, the air containment catastrophically failed. I had to dump my cargo and evacuate as many people as possible. 1/2

The ship also catastrophically malfunctioned on the way back and I ended up crash landing into a football stadium in Florida. I and one passenger survived. The government blamed the whole thing on me. 2/2

I think more articles on the mail-in ballot criminal conspiracy should include pictures of mail carriers and their vehicles, who have no control over any of it and are the most visible and vulnerable, and none at all of the corrupt USPS leadership colluding with Trump. /s

I recapitulated Twilight in a dream, with a twist. It was a difficult choice to also become a creature of the night to be with my sexy vampire lady forever, and my sexy non-specific unnatural beast of a former boyfriend was very upset.
