My teenager has kept their room clean for 6 consecutive weeks. I asked them to do this to contribute to keeping our living area free of clutter, taking responsibility for a space etc. I did also say if they could prove they are responsible I would consider the adoption of an animal in need …

Kinda weird that all the AI panic stories recently don’t actually tell you specifically what dangers AI supposedly poses or why We need to have such a reliance on AI for . The important questions are being dodged completely. Why are actual concerns (environmental , job creation) being ignored ?

I’m only now really learning the limitations and uses of AI and LLM’s ( which are not the same thing ) and the questions I have are mostly ‘ why is there no regulation? What is the purpose behihd the expansion and research ? What is the end goal and what is the cost ?

I’d happily give sacrifice all steaming services , chat bots, social media, cloud storage , ’smart’ devices and similar automated systems in a heart beat . How did it become normal to have all these things and why is so much of our society built around it now?

We were sold a lie that we needed automation and access to everything all the time (this itself is a lie too) . Big companies don’t want to pay staff wages so will automate systems to pay less wages, which means a bigger profit for those at the top and the shareholders.

The data centers needed to back up this tech eat up vital resources and cut vital infrastructure and jobs that didn’t need replacing. Ditch AI, big tech and streaming and automation that makes our lives worse and takes jobs under the guise of convenience.

Being in your 40‘s Is a very different experience from what i imagined it would be. Going to punk shows, riding bikes ,hanging with pals , reading comics ,listening to records, painting , physically in better shape than I’ve previously been … I mean I’m skint but, hey it’s always been that way

You’d think that if AI is hacking into things would be punishable in the same way as if a person had done it right? Or at very least the company who owns that AI is sanctioned some way that would hold them liable and maybe legislation implemented to make sure it never happens again, perhaps? yeah?

Sometimes everything gets on top of you . I’m an advocate for talking about your mental health and finding coping mechanisms but sometimes you can really be pushed to your limit . I guess this is a message to myself here and anyone else struggling . It gets better. breathe.

So Farage stepping down as an MP to trigger a by-election that he is going to stand in. It’d be good to remind the people of Clacton that they will foot the bill for that by-election and as an MP he has been mostly absent from parliament and all local surgeries . you are getting shafted lads!

British courts uphold ruling that Palestine action should be a proscribed terrorist group. A judge is quoted that they have used violent direct action to achieve their goal and are NOT ‘like the suffragettes‘ ! Which is odd because suffragettes DID carry out extensive arson and bombing campaigns
