I don't know about you, but I am sick of corporate greed and how it drives the surveillance state. If greedy grocery chains will fire their workers, infringe on your privacy rights, and gouge you on food, then what do we about it?

a bunch of ppl early on their coding journey have asked how I'd approach learning, so I made a video talking about that! www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPM9... in summary: don't use AI (it'll hamper learning & prompting isn't a skill), focus on the fundamentals, finish projects!, Python + Rust + JS/TS??

Whole segment is too long for Bluesky but the first three minutes is honestly a highlight reel of my work as an AI critic and it was absolutely incredible.
Here’s my full segment on MSNOW about becoming “the leading expert voice on the bearish case against AI,” the end of hypergrowth, and how AI’s costs and losses are magnitudes higher than those that built Amazon Web Services, and even Amazon itself. One of my best. youtu.be/n32mhb2aUsE?...

I wrote an essay about why I'm done using AI for coding, even if it costs me my job and career: brettcodes.com/im-done-usin... The basic gist is: AI made me a worse, apathetic programmer. I think it's bad for humanity, the planet, and the craft of software engineering. And I'm done using it.

One of the (many) reasons I think people are so anti-AI is that it’s a gratuitous display of wealth inequality. The average person’s life is difficult, expensive, and getting any kind of loan sucks - unless you’re raising billions of dollars to build an AI data center.
Was awesome to join Bloomberg to talk about the lie of AI - everyone's buying into the mag7 believing CapEx is going towards diverse AI demand, when all it's really doing is supporting the circular cloud revenues of two unprofitable, unsustainable AI labs. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHcZ...
