Please, if you love railways and all things narrow gauge, give the GVT Trust a share and a follow if you can! We need all the help we can get if we're going to re-open the line soon. It won't be long now till the 1st train movement since 1935!

The Glyn Valley Tramway Trust@glynvalleytramway.bsky.social

Hi everyone! We're here to share all the exciting things happening soon at the Glyn Valley Tramway. The line is closer than ever to coming back, and 'Track laying' has been pencilled in on our calendars! If you want to help us out, you can join the trust as a member with the link in our bio.

There's a new kit up on the shop! This little Neilson engine. It's based on the Great Eastern's 209 class, later LNER Y5. 1 of the 8 locos built was later adapted into a tram engine and was used in Colchester. So I've used lots of it's features in this narrow gauge spinoff!

This weekend, I'll be with the GVT Trust at Warley at Satfold! So come see us and grab a kit or two! The kits sold at warley will be helping to rebuild the GVT and they also help us do these shows so people can learn more about all thats going on at Chirk. We hope to see lots of you there! ๐Ÿ˜

I've added international shipping to the online shop! I'm sorry to say that it excludes Europe for now, something I'd like to change in the future. But the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and more are now able to place orders! ๐Ÿ˜

A few years back at the London Festival, I got a kitbashed Triang Brighton Belle driving motor. A few days ago I found another! Both of them are whitemetal conversion kits from the 60s, but interestingly theyre both different kits! I'm now working on restoring it. ๐Ÿ˜

I've done my 1st test print of the Reidpath tank! It's come out quite well, but there's a few things I've got to tweak before it goes up on the shop. I recon the first batch will be up for sale in the next few days! ๐Ÿ˜

This week I've been continuing my adventures in N6.5 Scale. I shrank my NDM-6 Diesel and made some appropriate Darjeeling Railway looking coaches to match. Given its size, it's too small for me to motorise, so a Rokuhan 'Z Shorty' motor is hidden in the 1st coach. ๐Ÿ˜

I'm not sure if this rivals yesterday's diesel kit, but this is what I've been working on! It's a kit based on the Stewart-Reidpath standard 0-6-0. It's still a work in progress, and I'll share more updates soon. It's currently designed to fit the old tooling terrier chassis.

Here it is, what you've all been waiting for! And yes, it's actually, seriously, on the shop right now. We've all been to some kind of attraction and seen a diesel loco like this, right? Anyways, go buy one! Check back tomorrow for a better announcement and happy APRIL FOOLS! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I've been playing trains today! Also, it's a good time to mention that there's 15% off for multiple purchases of my kits all this week! And there'll be a new kit announcement soon ๐Ÿ‘€

I'll be at the London Festival this year! Look out for me on the Glyn Valley Tramway stand, I'll be selling model kits to findraise for the tramway's restoration. Come along and say hi and find out what's going on at Chirk Station! ๐Ÿ˜

Not long until the Statfold Spectale of Steam! A whopping 14 narrow gauge locos in steam across the weekend! I'll be back this year supporting the GVT Trust. Profits from my kits will be going to help the tramway. It's going to be a great event, I hope to see some of you there!

A 3rd kit joins the shop this week! An old kit in a new form, this little O&K style loco. The 1st version was made for the minitrix 060 chassis. Now, this new version replaces that for (who guessed) the ever classic Kato 109! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘

I have a new kit for the shop! This is Albert. (Or my version at least). He's based on the Rev. Awdry's own Albert Mk2 from his Mid Sodor layout. I've tried to capture the essence of the original in my own little tramway version, I think I got pretty close! ๐Ÿ˜

Have you heard about our new build loco project yet?! The GVT Trust was kindly donated the frames and several other parts by the Castro family. GVT No.5 will be named Christopher in honor of Cristopher Castro, her builder. We hope that with your help, we can have her in steam in the next few years!

We're all excited to be heading back to Statfold! The trust stand will have some new displays, and once again, we will be selling DoubleM Models kits with the profits helping restore the Glyn Valley Tramway! Come talk to us about all that's happening at Chirk! ๐Ÿ˜

Yesterday, the Glyn Valley Tramway Trust's loyal team of volunteers made the long journey down to Somerset to collect some narrow gauge rolling stock and points! These will be at Chirk soon, but first, they will head to C.J.S Heritage engineering for re-gauging and restoration. ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿšƒ๐Ÿšƒ

I've been sent this photo! I love seeing the kit painted up so well! I still haven't painted one myself yet... ๐Ÿ˜… (I'll get round to it soon) I'm so glad people like them, they've been selling so fast! Thank you!! ๐Ÿ˜

A spur of the moment bit of inspiration (or insanity) lead me to making a Daisy just as the Rev. Awdry did! A hacksaw, knife and file was all it took! I didn't expect it to be so easy. I'll give the bodyshell a prime tomorrow, then I'll go looking for some green paint!

What a difference 4 years makes! Secundus (left) was completed last night, and Primus was made back in 2022. The biggest change between these two was when I upgraded my printers early last year. I can't believe DoubleM turns 5 this month! ๐Ÿ˜†

The GVT tram has gained coaches! Some freelance Glyn style ones that hide the motor chassis the best they can. I'm loving modelling narrow gauge in N scale! I'm painting the tram up at the moment. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm having a go at making a N6.5 kit (N scale, narrow gauge) It's a test print of the tram to see if it's come out ok. It's a dummy that'll be propelled by a rokuhan shorty chassis, im working on a coach body to go over it. Hopefully, it'll be on display at the show on the 31st!

Less than 10 days to go until the Bournville Show! An exhibition outside the Cadbury's Factory in Birmingham to help cosmetically restore their former locomotive. There's a great lineup! This is also the first of many shows that I'll be at this year! If you're in the area, be sure to come along! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿš‚

The Baldwin fleet grows! I've made 2 new tender locomotive kits that are based on the 10-12-D design. Also, the store's just had an upgrade, with new railway inspired icons and bigger images. So go have a look at what's changed and what's new! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿšƒ๐Ÿšƒ doublemmodels.etsy.com

Another re-stock of chassis is on the way! This time I've got some Tsugawa Yokou chassis coming to the range I stock. There's also more Kato 11-105 chassis coming, they're not sold out yet but there's only a few left! These will be on the shop before the end of the month. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

I've been cooking up a new kit! Here's a tiny little tram! It's not a J70, it's actually the earlier Y6 class. And yes, it's N scale. And yes, it can be motorised! This kit has been designed for a TU-16A chassis. Coming out soon! ๐Ÿ˜

Well, better late than never! I've spent some time wiring up the Rail200 board. I've just got the points left to automate, and then I can start on the scenic work. Since I've got a little more time on my hands, I'm gonna get some modelling work done this Xmas! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿšƒ๐Ÿšƒ

Well, look at that! I've got too many locos to restore already, but I couldn't help myself when I saw this Dukedog. I've been working on her for most of the day, and I'm close to having her running again! ๐Ÿ˜

I'll be at Great Eastern Models this Saturday for their mini exhibition with my kits for sale! Drop by and say hi! I'll have some painted examples with me and I'll have my test track setup too. Maybe even something new to show off!

Well, I finally did it! This Saturday, I got to drive a steam locomotive! The CJS Heritage Engineering open day was great! We raised money for The Glyn Valley Tramway Trust and our new build loco. Go follow us on facebook to see updates on the project!

The well wagon returns! Now carrying this extra special load. This is a LNWR Problem Class locomotive. It arrives in the same condition that Cornwall did almost a year ago now! There'll be more updates on her as the restoration process gets under way! ๐Ÿ˜
