Reading through William Hodgson’s Night Land and finally finishing it after trying it twice before. I’ve realized picking it back up again that it is the FIRST STRAND LIKE book. Written over a century before Kojima created the first strand like game(Death Stranding) A love for walking across ages

Endless barren landscapes of a dying earth Extremely advanced technology but why have vehicles Incomprehensible monsters The landscape is the primary antagonist Humanity surviving isolated in small siloed pockets The majority is just walking Both are Doom Metal settings

Both are also slavishly absorbed in their own writers particular writing style to the point of reading/playing it feels like an endless trek. Hodgson Walked so that Kojima could take a century to walk slightly faster. We should give flowers to Hodgson here, as was his due

Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him

Arrowhead dropped the cooldown of the orbital rail cannon for the MO to ~30 seconds against bots and you can take 2 of them; I've used them every dive. It's insanely overpowered and shouldn't stay this good, but I have to admit it feels pretty terrific. #helldivers2 #Helldivers

Good to see you’re here too. Been a fan, shame the old site went down the drain. As it seems you’re good with fairies this one’s an alchemist. So some spooky cauldren churning is only on theme for spooky season
