Went to help @partpurple.bsky.social set up for a craft show, but it was so crazy windy that I had to stay for the whole time, primarily to hold onto the tent. I never would have thought something so simple could leave my entire body tired. Turns out being a human tent anchor is a great workout!

We (re)watched Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind tonight. The overall story holds up but the minute-to-minute stuff feels really dated at this point. And I never before thought about how Roy completely forgets that he has a wife & 3 kids & chooses aliens over them seemingly without a 2nd thought.

I rather enjoy gacha games (while acknowledging they aren't for everyone) but one thing that bugs me. Why can't they just install the whole game at once? Instead you install the game (you think) then you run the game & oops, there's 60 GB of stuff that needs d/ling while you watch a video loop.

We finished that new Carrie series on Amazon Prime (in the US anyway) tonight. I'm not a TV critic, but I really enjoyed it quite a bit. It's the familiar story told in a new way.

QOL find of the day for us old people or people w/vision issues. Scrollbar Customize extension for Chrome/Chromium. Those tiny (to my eyes) hard-to-hit scrollbars can be replaced by high-contrast or just wider scrolls bars. Default on the left, Customized (Red & wider) on the right

"Everyone" seems to be confident Democrats are going to win big this year, but I feel like we've been down this road before and come Election Day we were surprised, in a bad way, by the results. So I shall be over here, still worried for the future.

Someone was promoting their free RPG Journal app for iOS over on tweet.app. It's really just a themed journaling app but I'm going to see if it helps me keep track of what I'm doing in my games because I jump between games like a lunatic & forget where I was. apps.apple.com/us/app/quest...

So far, really happy with Enshrouded. It'd be nice if I've finally found a game that 'sticks.' I've been playing so many games for like 3 hours then losing interest lately....

Doing a little encounter with Haniel, one of the characters in Neverness to Everness. And she's at a gacha machine talking about how she's spent her week's salary & still hasn't gotten what she wants and has to rely on the pity system. Found it all kind of amusing in a meta way. SAME Haniel. Same

Finished up the 4th season to Ted Lasso the other day. I'm not TV critic, but in my opinion the writers did the impossible: they brought back a beloved show and managed to maintain the quality of the writing. Lots of feels, lots of fun.

Peak Steam gamer moment. I watched a listicle video about great deals in the Steam sale. See a game that looks right up my alley. Totally new to me, tho it's a few years old. Go to add it to my wishlist and "This Item is Already in Your Library." So yeah, I guess NOT totally new to me!!

Had a dream last night in which my new boss insisted everyone switch to using mechanical keyboards so he could hear if we were typing while we were in (remote) meetings with him. He was annoyed we weren't giving him our full attention.

Back-of-the-issue ads from the October, 1997 edition of Realms of Fantasy magazine. While you wait for your Asian and/or Russian bride to arrive you can get a free sample 'Lady Warrior' photo for only $2 shipping & handling. Note that of the 3, only one has a website address listed. Weird times.

Here was my table setup at this weekend's Occult & Oddities Fest! Y'all. Y'ALL. This event was...spectacular. There's no other way to put it. I feel so vindicated. People really like my stuff!! And they want to give me money for it! Real, actual money!

A while back I played a bunch of Snow Runner on the PS5. Now I'm starting over on Steam & damn, I forgot how hard this game is when you're first starting & have lousy trucks. Made even harder by me forgetting what I'm driving & trying to take shortcuts beyond what my current vehicle can handle.

Was being all responsible and stuff and went to the park after work to do a couple of walking laps & get my steps in. Did not factor in that there was live music and beer tents at the park today. 9000 steps undone by a hazy IPA

Am I crazy (probably I am crazy) or is the Tokyo Game Show early this year. My foggy memory has it happening like mid-way between GamesCom and the Game Awards. Y'know this feels familiar. I might have asked this same question last year. 😀

Aniimo hit Game Pass (and I guess everywhere) so figured I'd give it a go but not sure I'll be able to get past the player models. Being a little boy doesn't really resonate with me, but being a little girl was even creepier.

You can customize your character but I couldn't get anything even remotely adult looking. I guess we're supposed to be students. I've never played Pokemon so haven't built up a tolerance for playing a child. LOL

Wasn't happy when Google replaced the Fitbit app with Google Health, but I have to admit it can be eerily accurate at times. Woke up feeling exhausted for some reason. Opened Google Health and it basically said "Bet ur tired af, amiright?" Based on resting heartrate, I guess?

I hooked up Wordpress 7 to Gemini to see how well that works for generating things like alt tags and SEO friendly excerpts. It was not good. In the time it took for Gemini to spit out something I could've written something better 5 times over. And sometimes it would just time out.

Since I got the Switch 2 I've started, for abt the 4th time, playing Octopath Traveller & I think this time it is sticking. 20 or so hours in & finally starting chap 2 of 1 of the stories. I've got all 8 characters activated tho. 1st boss of chap 2 defeated me so time to mix up my team & try again

Last night we finished a rewatch of the BSG reboot. I remember, when it first aired, not liking the ending very much. This time I liked it plenty. I honestly didn't remember it very well; I'd forgotten how dark it was. Maybe expecting to not like the end, helped me enjoy the ending?

Y'know the social media meme "Let people enjoy things?" I'm a believer in that & think I do OK at it. What I fail it is letting people hate things that I enjoy. I always take it personally and I don't know why. It isn't logical. My partner says "Just ignore them" but I just can't. It's dumb.

Been trying to get a short walk in before work recently, just a quick loop around the apt complex to get blood flowing & natural light in my eyeholes. Today I met Charlie, a handsome floof who appeared to be a Great Pyrenees mix. I gave him pets, he gave me a better start to my day. I <3 doggos

I finally finished My Time at Sandrock at the end of last month & after a bit of game grazing fell right into Coral Island. I guess some part of my brain is craving that cozy accumulation vibe these days. Though there's still a voice inside yelling "But... THESE OTHER GAMES...."
