It’s a lengthy read, but that’s what we‘ll get to: ‚We need a greater recognition from society and politics of what the Covid virus can do to bodies, long-term. Above all, what we need is liberation from judgements.‘ #LongCovid

Beth Dobbin has clearly responded on X & IG to the inadequate response to her letter to Andy Burnham. We completely agree. It is inadequate and pitiful. SequenceME needs FULL funding not a partial pittance. We cannot make progress with this approach. @yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social

A pretty generic, non-commital response to Beth Dobbin's letter to Andy Burnham. A key problem of the Delivery Plan (which doesn't deliver) is that it's used as policy theatre to ensure change doesn't happen on the scale that is needed. 1/4

The Covid Inquiry’s Module 6 report is devastating. Its central conclusion: adult social care was treated as “something of an afterthought”, while “protecting the NHS” sometimes came at the expense of people receiving and providing care. 1/10

(1/3) People with #MECFS are shamed for being ill. Stigma in the diagnosis and the pejorative use of the word 'activism' are forms of repression. Out of pwME/CFS I knew, those in the UK stood out as the most cautious about using their real name on public forums. It is no mere coincidence that ...

@cabruce.bsky.social Dame Parveen Kumar - a real charmer when interviewed by Jim Al-Khalili on his radio show earlier this week. Insisted that evidential proof was the only way to get into her book, but not challenged at all about why she and Jim Clark consistently get it wrong on #me/cfs.

Carole Bruce@cabruce.bsky.social

The latest edition of Kumar and Clark’s Clinical Medicine (11th edition) was released 6/25 Sadly, though, #ME/CFS has been placed in the ‘General hospital psychiatry’ chapter, more specifically under ‘MUS’ (Medically Unexplained Symptoms) and ‘FND’ Hence the mistreatment 😡

Olympic sprinter Beth Dobbin advocates brilliantly in this article: 🔹strongly rejects CFS label 🔹states there is no specialist NHS service 🔹conveys the severity of the disease 🔹raises the issue of how athletes are more 'believed' www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athlet...

Read the above article, and then read this, about a medical textbook which is imparting medical misinformation to new medical students, for many of whom this textbook is one of the first they are exposed to, updated and published in 2025. #LongCovid #ME mecfs.substack.com/p/the-medica...
