It's a terrible indictment of the Role Playing industry: if someone walked into a store today they'd probably get the same experience as 50 years ago. Directed to DND only to find a wargame that you must work *against* to do any roleplaying.

It's well-documented that the president maintained a years-long friendship with the world's most notorious child sex trafficker. It might strike you as odd there aren't direct allegations of Trump engaging in child sex trafficking.. except there are. There are SO MANY. They just never get reported!

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

helenwebberley.comAre transgender sports bans really about protecting women? | Dr Helen WebberleyThe data says no. Those most hostile to women are most in favour of banning trans athletes.

Because there are 10s of thousands of Democratic electeds in the United States, and you have positioned yourself directly into a media environment that is designed to find every statement a Democrat makes that is even vaguely transphobic as soon as it happens.

Brazil’s results tonight are a big endorsement for the idea that every country should have a second “are you you sure about that” election a couple weeks after the first one for the important stuff

if voting didn't matter they wouldn't be working so hard to stop you

The long-serving strongman leader of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has conceded defeat in an election that pitted him and his right-wing party against a diverse student-led opposition movement that spent two years protesting his government.

Hacks using AI to make "comics" like this sucks but I also hate to think of kids who might have been artists but will have their creativity hijacked by this shit and so we will never get the music or art they could have made.

not just me but I feel like BRAZIL's reputation is built on the 30ish minutes of it that really work even tho the larger movie doesn't hang together at all. Gilliam's entire career as a director is kinda like this tbh

Part of the reason cops don't do any work: once a job becomes high paid enough, more money isn't an incentive. The incentive becomes requiring less work. This is true in all sectors, it's just more obvious with cops. A police department that required cops help people would be abandoned for another.

the way i think about masking during high risk times of the year: why would you subject yourself to the risk of involuntarily being bed-bound for 1-3 weeks (all the while feeling like shit) if i'm gonna take time off work, i'd much prefer it to be when i choose and be able to enjoy my time

Star Trek Picard is all about endings: death, retirement, institutional collapse, etc. It should have been about the continuity of things despite death. Picard should have adopted someone to take over the vineyard, built up a new generation of officers, etc etc.

Philadelphia would benefit infinitely from having one east-west and one north-south street that was entirely pedestrianized. It wouldn't even have to be a big street! A free way for cyclists and pedestrians would be so liberating. (And be great for local businesses and tourism)

The Bob's Burgers illustrators love accurate buildings and infrastructure, down to the framing, plumbing, wiring. The boiler has an expansion tank. The power poles have transformers wired up just like they should be. There's a gas meter in the alley. The under-sink plumbing is detailed and correct
