Fun thing! I'm looking at a copy of a book of summaries of Aristotle’s natural philosophy (Naturalis totius philosophiae paraphrases (1538)), and the book has a semi-circle mirror set into the backboard. Has any one seen this elsewhere? What's going on? A device to connect up with the Aristotle?

Cats AND Dogs? Had the opportunity Friday to peruse a 1920s Dean's Rag Book catalogue from the Hanna Gray Special Collections at the University of Chicago. While the logo shows dogs unable to tear their indestructible books (printed on fabric), there are feline designs too! #Caturday #Fluffikits

🧦🪙 Sock It To Me 🪙🧦 Ever heard of a Sock Social? C. 1907, you were supposed to fill your sockvitation with pennies for a good cause! The Ladies' Aid Society of Bridgeport Illinois even printed an explanatory verse on the verso! 👇

"By a kiss, timid innocence fans the flames of the heart"... Intimate, especially if read while being worn, this text could be cheekier if its existence in multiple meant an entire household of courtesans donned them at once! Did they choose their own messages? Or did their madam do the honors? 2/2
