Losing a loved one can be overwhelming and incapacitating. Grief can bring heartache more painful than you thought possible. God promises in His Word to be with you always. He also promises to comfort you whenever you grieve a loss and can't put one foot in front of the other. #Grief

Psalm 103:12, provides a powerful metaphor for God's total and infinite forgiveness of our sins. This verse emphasizes that under God's grace, sin is entirely removed and cast away. God chose this specific directional pairing to illustrate that His forgiveness has no boundary. #God'sForgiveness

Starting our day centered in God's Word and prayer is a powerful practice rooted deeply in Scripture. Gathering spiritual nourishment at dawn is like gathering manna in the wilderness, it sustains us for the unique challenges of that specific day. #God #Prayer #Meditation

Life in a fallen world can provide much to worry about. We often have a tendency to focus on the "what-ifs." These thoughts only fuel the fire of our worry. Satan uses worry to cause doubt, confusion, & insecurity. Focus on God & His Word, & replace worry for truth & peace 🙏❤️. #God #Worry

Everything we have is a gift from God. Without gratitude, we become arrogant and self-centered. We begin to believe that we have achieved everything on our own. Thankfulness keeps our hearts in a right relationship to the Giver of all good gifts. Salvation in Christ, is another. #God

What does God, who has everything need from us? Nothing. It says in Psalm 50:12, "The world is Mine, and all it's fullness." So, what does it mean in Luke 12:21, when it suggests that we should be "rich" toward God? "In this world, it's not what we take up, but what we give up." #God

The Bible is full of incredible promises of help from the Lord for those who hope and trust in Him. God is the guardian and protector of life's journey. Our help comes from the Lord through His vigilant, never wearying, sleepless protection. The child of God, is assured of this. #God'sPromises

Believers are called to be joyful, not because life is always easy or free of pain, but because their joy is rooted in God's unchanging character, grace, and promises. We shouldn't dwell on those things that rob our contentment. We dwell on God. Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. #God #Joyful

We're all like clay in the hands of God who is the potter. Although God allows human beings freedom to make moral choices, He's still sovereign & in control of His universe. It's our responsibility to take what He's given us & use it for His glory, by giving Him praise & honor. #God #Potter #clay

📚 New children’s book! “Good Lord, here comes trouble!” Meet Eli Carter: 8 years old, youngest of 8, full of big ideas, and bigger messes. "Little Feet, Big Faith," by Dr. Edward L. Wright, is a funny, heartwarming story about faith and family. Out now on Amazon. #ChildrensBooks #FaithBasedBooks

God's mercies and tender compassions don't run out, but are renewed every single morning even during times of discipline or trial. By nature, He's imbued with tenderness, kindness, and compassion. The compassion of God makes Him acutely aware of, and sympathetic to our weakness. #God'sMercies

Everyday, I'm blessed to step out and see the beauty of everything around me. Life can be a treadmill, where you don't capture the moment. Recognize and embrace the beauty around you ❤️. #wildlife #birds #scenery

Spiritual preparation for heaven doesn't derive from human goodness or personal merit, because everyone falls short of God's holy standard. Instead, it's found through grace & faith in Jesus Christ. Have we acknowledged our sin, repented, been baptized, & live obediently? #JesusChrist

Living in perfect harmony is impossible through human effort, but only through God. Believers need the patience & comfort that God supplies to successfully navigate relational conflicts & remain unified regardless of deep racial, cultural, or theological differences. #God

Grief & hope can coexist. The hope we have in Christ helps us move forward through grief. The losses endured in this world are real & impact us in many ways, but we shouldn't live in bitterness or gloom. We live "in the hope of eternal life, which God, who doesn't lie, promised." #Grief

Often, we only see our lives through a limited, physical lens. When life is chaotic or confusing, we wonder why these events are permitted. When God "pulls back the curtain," He opens our spiritual eyes to see things as they truly are. Trust God's instruction & discipline. #God

There's no guarantee that any of us will see tomorrow. Our eternity may come sooner than we think. To prepare for that moment, we need to know this truth, not everyone's going to heaven. It's popular to say, "Everyone's going to heaven." However, not without Jesus! #Salvation

We know from Scripture that we can't discern the true state of our hearts without the help of God. With every new dawn and sunset, we need to open our souls for God to search the recesses of our hearts. Subsequently, we need to ask Him to wash us clean and lead us His way. #Hearts

The Bible comforts us because of its promises the Lord makes to those who are prepared to trust Him. It's promises that bring comfort that feed off the weakest spark of saving faith to provide the reward of comfort, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. How is your faith? #Faith

Move over, baby... ’cause I got’sta eat! 🍗🥧 Food brings us to the table. Family keeps us there. ❤️ Got’sta Eat! by Dr. Edward L. Wright, a joyful picture book about family, laughter, and sweet potato pie. Now available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle! #Children'sBooks #Amazon

God who created us, can also heal us physically, mentally, emotionally, & spiritually. He's the "Great Physician." Whatever the source, or site of our pain, we can experience the Lord, as our comforter. Thank God for His healing power. Don't hesitate to ask Him. He's there 24/7. #SpiritualHealing

When it comes to showing love in our Christian walk, there's no room for error! Imagine buying detergent that claims to clean clothes, but makes your clothes dingier. No one likes Christians who don't "walk-the-talk." We must be consistent & steady in our ability to love others. #Love

Philippians 3:17-21, contrasts two entirely different ways of living: Life focused on temporary earthly gratification, versus a life lived in light of an eternal heavenly citizenship. Are we maturing in Christ? Are we too focused on "worldly" things, and not our heavenly home? #God

We're all afraid sometime about something. We live in a world that offers plenty of chances to fear. Our first course of action is to trust God. In His grace, God has given us spiritual armor to wage a successful battle. The enemy's tactics is to promote fear. Where's your faith? #Fear

Christians are called to be like Jesus. But, it can be challenging living with integrity in a world where the corrupt seem to flourish. When we focus on following God's blueprint, we live with genuine integrity by His power, which He graciously & freely gives to all who are His. #Integrity

At times we find that we alone have survived something, & don’t know why. Maybe, it was a life-threatening incident, & you struggle to know why you survived when others didn’t. It was God's grace that brought you through to be the remnant for Him. Share the Word & your testimony. #God'sGrace

Believers are to have a "single-minded" focus as we run our spiritual race. We must not look backward, instead keep our eyes fixed on the finished line in Christ. Dwelling on the past can be spiritually harmful & distracting when it fosters a divided heart & a longing for sin. #FocusonGod

In high school, I chose a French class. Although it was a grind, the value of discipline was required to learn the language. I listened to tapes, where I was prompted to "écoutez et répétez," (listen & repeat). The same can be said for following Christ. Do we apply what we learn? #ListeningtoGod

Psalm 4:8, encourages believers to take their anxieties, search their hearts quietly, and surrender them to God before closing their eyes, rather than taking anger or worry to bed. Choosing to sleep in the middle of a trial is an active demonstration of trust. God is our remedy ♥️. #God

Does our desire for recognition and attention replace Jesus from our lives? Many spend an inordinate amount of time trying to build their image to seek acceptance. When we focus our lives on Jesus, we're not absorbed with ourselves, we pursue an intimate walk with Him ❤️.

God values a genuine heart of devotion & complete obedience over empty religious rituals. When we attend worship, give money, and serve, but actively live in rebellion, those religious actions are hollow & offensive to God. God desires a heart of obedience above anything else. #ObedienceToGod

There are plenty of worries that can weigh us down. But as we release them into God's strong hands, He will help us through our trials. In the midst of fear, we can look to God. God will provide grace, mercy, insight, and direction. Help us to place our burdens in your care. #Worries

How often do we get "spiritual" amnesia & forget the grace of God during troubling times? A good way to reestablish a thankful heart is to set aside "undistracted" time & deliberately remember God's past provisions & give thanks. God's steadfast love is always present ❤️. #God

The Bible considers the heart to be the hub of human personality, producing the things we would ordinarily ascribe to the "mind." In Luke 6:43-45, Jesus tells us that the heart is a repository for good & evil & that what comes out of our mouth, good or bad, begins in the heart. #TheHeart

As a former cross-country runner, it took great discipline, training, & another runner to set the pace. The same can be said with our Christian life. Following God, isn't a solo endeavor. God didn't create us to run the race of life alone. Be encouraged, find someone to run with 🙏❤️. #SpiritualRace

Often, we forget how God has carried us through past difficulties. When life is stable or smooth, it's easy to shift our focus and mistakenly attribute our survival or success to our own strength rather than God's grace. If it hadn't been for God, where would we be? #God

In Psalm 37, the righteous can trust God to sustain them (Ps. 37:17) & the inheritance of righteousness will never end (Ps. 37:18). The righteous are given righteousness & salvation from the Lord (Ps. 37:39). It's a psalm that reminds & encourages us of God's faithfulness ❤️. #God

While lovingkindness can describe one person's actions toward another it's most often used to describe the character of the Lord. Many places in Scripture speak of the lovingkindness of the Lord. Lovingkindness is part of who God is. He delights in showing lovingkindness. #God

When we try to carry the burdens of life by ourselves, the weight gets heavy. However, when we put our hope, faith, and trust, in the Lord and rely on His strength, we can face another day. We can run the race in life knowing He's right beside us. Rely on His strength! ❤️ #God

God's infinite thoughts are far greater than our limited ability to comprehend them. God's ways are higher than our ways because His ways are always part of a bigger plan. We see only our small piece of the puzzle. God sees the finished work. Make God your number one priority ❤️. #God

When I read Psalm 136:1, I have two reasons to be thankful: God's constant goodness & His steadfast love. When we recognize the nature of our depravity & understand that, apart from God, there's only death (John 10:10; Rom. 7:5). Our natural response should be gratefulness❤️ 🙌. #Thankfulness

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, notes "there's a time for everything," a time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, a time to dance, a time to tear, and a time to mend. Life is filled with seasons of joy & seasons of grief. As believers, we're to cast our burdens on the Lord.

Proverbs 4:24-27, focuses on moral integrity, discipline, & staying focused on a righteous path. Avoid lying, gossiping, twisting the truth, or using language to mislead others. Your speech reflects the condition of the heart. Distractions are the primary gateway to temptation.

As believers, we're called to "make the best use of the time, because the days are evil." We must think carefully about our daily choices instead of acting without purpose. Use everyday routines to help others and honor God. Treat each hour as a "limited" gift.

Godly criticism is true and loving. It comes from a humble, caring heart that wishes the best for the other person. It's not bitter, condescending, insulting, or cold-hearted. "When weighing the faults of others, be careful not to put your thumb on the scale." #JudgingOthers

Adversity is an inevitable part of living in a fallen world, but God uses trials to build spiritual endurance, character, and a closer reliance on Him. The late entertainer Dolly Parton once said, "If you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain." God is our rainbow🌈. #Adversity

God judges the inner workings of the heart and mind, not just outward actions. Entertaining malicious thoughts is the first step towards ruin. Wicked plots lead to wandering and judgment, while "proactive" goodness invites God's steadfast character into a person's life. #God

Taking refuge in God shouldn't be just in times of calamity. It's believing, trusting, and being obediently faithful to Him everyday of our lives. Are we genuinely committed to Him; or masquerade around, as though we are? One can't fully know God's goodness from a distance 🙏. #RefugeinGod

Twenty-five years ago, the 9/11 terrorist attacks began on a blue-sky morning. As the result of this devastating event, many lost loved ones. I lost a high school classmate along with his family. Human life is brief, fragile, and uncertain. We must place our trust in God's hands. #September11th

Psalm 36:1-4, serves as a warning about how unchecked rebellion works. Sin is not just a collection of isolated mistakes; it's a deliberate state of mind that begins with ignoring God, moves to self-flattery, corrupt speech, and evolves into a calculated lifestyle. God sees all. #Sin
