Why would young people find print media worth paying attention to when they see live news on social media, like the demonstrations against fascism in cities in Europe that aren’t covered in newspapers or any mainstream media?

I’m puzzled. After seeing videos of thousands upon thousands of German citizens in the streets protesting fascism and Musk, there is no coverage whatsoever in the NYT. What gives?
