the routine, pay for play pardons are all by themselves one of the worst corruption scandals in american history!

My brain cannot process this level of corruption. She was being paid $50 million to engineer a pardon from Trump *while working at the Justice Department* as a "Special Government Employee." And it worked. He got the pardon, and she got the money. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/20/u...

This picture didn't catch all the brightness. There were maybe 35 seconds when the sun caught the branches and leaves from below, coloring all ablaze. It was a Gerard Manley Hopkins moment. It reminded me that we must see and advance beauty with zeal; the only way for the world's hope and healing.

Isn't it interesting (or should we have expected so) that erstwhile DJT supporters are now louder in complaint about gas prices than stifled evidence of child sex trafficking? I'm asking a theological/moral question to purported evangelicals.

OMG! Senator Kennedy asks Patel "why are you into beastiality?" KP answers "If you are talking about trafficking..." JFC, Kash! Who is trafficking whom/what in your DJT world? Reader note! I'm clergy who's been around the block re hearing confessions. But KP just upped the incredulity index.

Suppose Dems actually get to 52 Senate seats, assuming Dem dominance in the House. Will they have the moral spine to impeach and remove Blanche, Patel, and Hegseth, all whom defy the constitution in favor of Trump?

We can sigh some relief at SCOTUS' 7-2 denial ofTrump's effort to inhibit mail-in voting. The 2 were Thomas and Alito. Now constitutional patriots must secure the Senate by 52 either to impeach them or to block a more anti-democracy nominee to the court should either soon resign.

"What's up?", I'm asked. The only up side I can think of right now is that SCOTUS just dug another hole in its grave "for now." I can't wait for a new Congress to throw DJT and 6 justices into that East Wing ditch.

Been on a long work/real vacay. After a week + in Salisbury, a great week in Sweden, ends today with visit to the "Bogman;" 13th c local Varberg dude fully preserved in a bog, looking at my own future prospects. Then a week's mtg in Aarhus, for which I must still write a paper. "Retire" life.

The font at Salisbury Cathedral reminds that baptism is a dive into infinity. (Here for a week as theologian in residence with choir and pilgrims from St. Luke's, Evanston; choir sings Evensong all this week, Monday thru Sunday)

The man who today became the first trillionaire in the history of the world is also the first American to order the deaths of 750,000 people in the first year alone after his cutting USAID. This mirrors the state of American moral monstrousness today.

I don't know about you all, but this is shaping up to be the worst birthday for a 250 year old that I've ever attended. Whoever's doing this, please oh please remove me from the guest list for the next one.

This moment watching Artemis II splashdown is deeply moving. It is so heartening to be a proud American in this moment, for a change. I don't recall feeling this way when growing up watching in the years of Mercury through Apollo.

This is an evil man whom good people with the authority and power to do so would remove from office immediately. Since that it is not happening, we can only conclude that we have no good people with the authority and power to do what will preserve our constitution and country.

If you need and desire to follow a worship service online tomorrow as you adjust to DST, try the St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Evanston, IL live stream on YouTube at 10 Central. The choir, music and space always inspire. And this olding goat is humbled to serve as the preacher.
