Oh crap! Uh! I wrote this thing! It comes out next week! It has romance and giant pillbug scholars! us.macmillan.com/books/978125...
post more about your books or I'll kick you in the ankles
Hi, I’m a car accident that left me with metal in my leg and, also, a “melon-sized” kidney, and I’ve also got metal in my spine from another, completely different thing.
Introduce yourself as what almost killed you. "Hi, I'm pneumonia in your six-month-old lungs paired with an Army base doc who tells Mom she's being hysterical over a cold!"

Hello #BluePitHype! I'm Kamela, I've been working on a cyberpunk/hopepunk novel since...2018? Jeez. Anyway, I'm releasing bits weekly on Patreon. Inspirations: Jersey Shore childhood. Growing up queer and weird. An MFA, mostly-useless, but makes me feel like a Real Writer(tm) when I get sad. You?
Welcome to the first day of #BluePitHype! It's only 5 days to #BluePit on July 13th! So, join us for our Q&A. Today is Introduction Day! Tell us who you are! Make some new friends! We can't wait to meet you and your stories! #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #GameDev #TTRPG #Comic #AmQuerying #Writers
I encourage everyone to read this, not merely because I want more trans women wandering around topless for my own enjoyment, but mainly because this is a very effective form of mockery protest against the established laws.
On the fourth of July, 1980, about fifteen trans women went to one of the most upscale public swimming pools in Milan, took off their tops, and started lounging around. It was a Friday, and the height of the summer vacation, so there were plenty of families with young children around. 1/
So there was a fancy foods and kitchenware shop we’d sometimes go to, and it became known as Wounded Knee through some rhyming-slang-style series of word replacements. No one could remember the real name until we went through Wounded Knee first. I think the store was “Duck Soup”.
hit me with your hyperspecific friend or family slang. when i was a kid my friend once ate too many sour patch kids and then had some ketchup on fries and it was painful because of how acid blasted his tongue was. he told this story a few times, so "a ketchup story" came to mean an oft-repeated tale

One of my favorite animal videos, probably taken at Disney's Animal Kingdom: four asian small-clawed otters racing back and forth across the grass like a troop of predatory socks, hopping up to try and snatch a butterfly out of the air.
There's a couple of videos out there of a passel of otters chasing a butterfly around their enclosure on a nice sunny day. It is the most pure and adorable cartoon chase sequence.
I don’t need this, I already got my preorder copy, but *you*, Gentle Reader, do.
Heya folks! Penguin Random House and @seananmcguire.bsky.social have kindly provided a copy of her new Magic novel Omens of Chaos for me to give away! All you have to do is share this and leave a comment on my interview with Seanan, which is linked in the next post!

If @netflix.com drops Susan Rice in response to Trump's bullying, I'm dropping Netflix. If you feel the same way, let Netflix know.
