i didn’t play minecraft for 2 years and i guess microsoft deletes your account if its inactive for 2 years lmao. so, despite purchasing the game in 2011, i guess i still don’t own it. consumer rights are at an all time low.

throughout some research, the frustrating thing is the account still *exists* (an entirely different rabbit hole), microsoft just locks it (with no way to get it back). it sounds absurd and almost unbelievable. the outcome is my username and email are now tied to a defunct account.

while this may just seem like a small issue, as the games just $30, the real problem here is the truly evil anti-consumerism tactics at play here. also, if you’re knowledgeable with microsoft’s acquisition with minecraft: my account was migrated to microsoft. i last played 9/6/2024. 2 years ago.

my hot take is the image carousel is actually good, would like to see larger thumbnails from it (there’s no reason not to with a carousel), but yeah. it should be optional.

there’s not much reason to force an aspect ratio crop with a carousel, so hopefully that’s something that can be fixed. on a broader scale social media needs to stop being so refined to the point where everything lacks customizability. allow users to choose crop, choose how to display images, etc
