We demand a city free from militarization and federal interference. Real safety comes from investing in people, not policing with tanks. This is OUR city, OUR home. NOT a war zone.

We stand with @freedcproject.bsky.social and call for: - the prevention and withdrawal of all military forces. - the stopping of federal takeovers that ignore local democracy. - the passing of DC statehood to protect our rights once and for all.

Yet federal forces have been dumped in without local consent, violating our democracy and treating our city like a battlefield instead of a home. The move targets vulnerable communities, criminalizing Black youth and pushing harmful policies that tear families apart.

Here’s the truth: violent crime is down 26% compared to last year. Overall crime is at its lowest in 30 years. There's NO emergency here. This militarization is mere political theater, designed to intimidate, divide, and erase local voices. The Home Rule Act guarantees DC the right to govern itself.
