Korumburra activity continues, with another 35 taking the total to over 150 aftershocks in 18 days. The largest of these last week had a magnitude of 3.2, which is the same magnitude as an earthquake detected near Rosebery in TAS on Saturday morning. The M2.9 near Greenock in SA was reportedly felt.

Android users - our latest app update includes data from @geonet_nz with links to their reporting form if you feel an earthquake in Aotearoa. Download links at seismoscope.net or search for Seismoscope in the store and look for our logo.
It may seem like just another earthquake browser app, but Seismoscope makes reporting what you felt much easier, and your feedback goes directly to the relevant authority. Seismoscope also includes @earthquakes.au data that you can’t get anywhere else 😊
We've decided to update our weekly map image to remind you that you can download Seismoscope so you can zoom in to find out exactly when and where any of these earthquakes occurred. Download links can be found on seismoscope.net or search for it in the app stores and look for our "S" app logo.

We're proud to finally announce the availability of our new app, Seismoscope. It's freely available for Apple and Android phones and tablets. It was made to share Australian data, but it also lists earthquakes from all over the world, and allows you to report what you felt to the relevant authority.
Just 30 earthquakes in the region last week. The largest was a magnitude 2.6 near Douglas Park NSW that was reportedly felt in the local area. Typically earthquakes below magnitude 4 in Australia aren't damaging, but depth of event, surface soil conditions, and structure type are factors to consider
The SRC are so proud to be involved in this project. Great to see drone footage and other imagery from our very own @seislologist.bsky.social featured throughout this video. For more on our contribution to WA Array, check out our article on src.com.au

All earthquakes last week were below magnitude 2, which we expect were all too small to be felt, particularly as their average depths were 9km, ranging from near-surface to 20km deep. Three earthquakes occurred near Korumburra VIC, an area that has hosted several magnitude 4+ events in recent years.

Despite the 3:30am start, I really enjoyed answering questions from callers on the @news.abc.net.au #Overnights program last Friday. Here's a couple of snippets, but you can find the full program at the link below. The hour-long earthquake segment starts at 1:33:14. www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...
We’re catching up on data analysis after some field work, so to tide you over until the next map here’s an interesting little earthquake that occurred deep under @monashuniversity.bsky.social in @cityofmelbourne.bsky.social earlier this week.
