I miss old blogs and old Instagram, that at some point was a cozy place to connect vs a place to make business. Maybe old blogs like live journal more so. I noticed that Bluesky is more “to the point” than a way to document little life’s moments. Maybe I just need to look in a different direction.

As adults, we are so hard on ourselves, demanding that whatever we do should produce results, or it’s not worth doing. We have every activity categorized and measured. And play - it is when you do something just for the sake of doing it.

I was picking my kid up from the after school care and I was watching the kids while he was getting ready. That time, when you don’t have to do anything productive. The time to play, to be bored, to build and disassemble. Do we as adults ever get this time?

Santa came, gifts were given. Now to the good old workdays. I am surprised to realize, I’ve been looking forward to the structured hum of a work day. Where my responsibilities are easily defined.

I watched Grinch with the kids. And after we were done I started feeling shaky: will they like the gifts? Did I buy everything? Did I forget something? In these movies everything is done by Santa. In my life, it’s me. And every year I can’t wait for calm January, with no holidays.

Checking out this social media. Big hopes, but anxious of whether or not I find people I like here. Taking my time to adjust.
