If we actually get this blue wave, I don't want to hear anything about what's politically viable in January. I want to hear about what's right, what's fair, what's just, and what our laws require.

Jesus Christ.

Trump's affordability message: "You could even come to Mar-a-Lago. You'll be my guest. The problem is that for $5,000 the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I'm not even sure you could buy that! No, don't go there. It's not a good place if you're price conscious."

This is the last week of early voting in Virginia! The polls are open 9-5, Monday to Friday, at Courthouse Plaza in north Arlington. The polls will also be open on Saturday, October 31st at Courthouse Plaza, and Langston-Brown and Walter Reed Community Centers.

This feels like the reaction of someone who’d been promised the fix was in.

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps: -It’s ‘sleight of hand’ -It’s ‘bated breath’ -It’s ‘lo and behold’ -It's 'buck naked' -It’s ‘brass tacks’ -It’s ‘free rein’ -It’s ‘toe the line'

One thing I’ll take credit for being is a good panel moderator, but it’s only because I grew up in a family of six kids that ate dinner together every night.

A U.S. envoy calling murderer Putin a humanitarian while visiting him in Kremlin — when after failing to achieve his military goals, Putin directs Ukrainian civilians to be hunted in the streets or executed in their own homes. Kids will read about this one day and ask: what was everyone else doing?

I refuse to acknowledge this.

I feel like no one told me and definitely no one asked my permission when "compute" became a noun. Like I'm a friend to all nerds. But this was a little out of hand. And shld have been reined in.

I’ll take it.

Rooting for a Tampa Bay vs Milwaukee World Series that ends in extra innings in Game 7 when everybody agrees they’re all winners and they all share their snacks.

It's a fantastic social history of American policing and the development of government-led investigation, making the not-so-subtle point that leaving police work in private hands is both inefficient and dangerous to individual rights.

The abuse of state-authorized police powers is horrifying, but privatizing those powers is worse. As long as journalists can report on what's happening and voters can change government policy, it's better that the state hold that authority. Obviously, those are two huge conditions.
