I feel like it's not really that weird... those that understand the technology best understand the dangers the most.

It’s weird how so many people who work in tech have absolutely fire-walled their life from smart technology. It’s like a bunch of pilots refusing to fly when they go on holiday.

Seeing Too Short beating on the drum at the Valkyries game and remembering the old line of his from Getting It: "I keep going and going but I'm not the pink bunny, Instead of beating on a drum I never stop getting money"

The instrumental mix on this is amazing! Each instrument has it's own place in the sonic space. Vocals unfortunately are a bit too forward and loud for my taste. I guess I would call this haunting and slightly funky with a nice groove. Definitely worth a listen.

Collage - Ehted Kadunud [Estonia, Folk/Funk/Psych] (197?) I think it’s from ‘71 but can’t be sure. https://redd.it/idt9pi https://youtu.be/C1Z2v9iDmLM

This is some cool, chill, classic roots reggae for the lovers in the house. Complete with some 80s saxaphone to complete the vibe 😂 "she even do it in the tub" "Tub" is probably the most rhymed word ever to be used with rub a dub 😆

I'm claiming "sucka free" also, anyone not from my city claiming that shit is appropriating like a mug.

Reposting mainly for the title of the track, Pachuco... my mom was just telling me the other day you don't hear this word anymore. Song is pretty nice to listen to though. Like that Gypsy Kings album you couldn't escape back in the day, but with cooler drums and some strings to round out the sound.

This is just a groove that's easy to allow into your life. Not too funky, not too complicated, but not boring and not too simple, just some goldilocks like groove. Something I want to play on a Saturday afternoon when I'm just thankful for life.

ZANE & HOGAN - Step Into Your Love [US, Texas Modern Soul, funk boogie] (Le Cam Records/Mid 1970s?) https://redd.it/gcjiie https://youtu.be/Ae-gFlCxf70

This reminded me of a time we were walking our dog and seen a man drive off and leave his older pudgy pit behind. We were like goddamit, that's fucked up. My wife took our dog home while I waited with the abandoned dog for animal control. About 15 minutes later dude came back like "Chuy! Chuy!"😆 1/2

This guy followed my wife and son home from the park. he had a chip and we found the owner lived 25 miles away from us. We returned him and the next day we received a call from the owner asking us if we wanted to keep him. Meet Boomer.

He saw me with his dog, ran over, was like "C'mon Chuy", put Chuy in the car and drove off without barely acknowledging me. As he left he was like "Aye, if you come back tomorrow at this time, I'll take care of you". 😂😂😂 Right on fam.

Jarringly funky... reminiscent of Ohio Players (something reminds me Roller Coaster somehow). I don't know why, but this song is putting me on edge, even though I dig the individual elements. Music is weird sometimes. Oh hold on, what is this bass break leading into a piano solo? And bongos? Get it!

Days? I've had The Gap Band's Outstanding in my head for at least like 8 months now. Not mad about it though, just gotta let it run its course.

I'm one of those people who gets songs stuck in their head for days. It's not enjoyable at all and I honestly do my best to avoid music that isn't classical. For some reason, that doesn't stick with me. So, for 3 days now I've had "We built this city on rock and roll" stuck on repeat.

The intro and opening rap are comical to me, but the hook is fun and danceable. Classic synth horns that barely sound like horns are always silly, but in 1988 I guess you didn't have many options. I fux with it. Second rap verse is a little better.
