My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Access to music. I have hundreds of stations in my car and a world of undiscovered rock, jazz, country, bluegrass and more in my pocket.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

I know what Meta is doing is corrupt, and they should be called out for it. But what are you all still doing on their platforms?

"Trump’s Election Interference Is Underway." And it can come from Trump corporate and tech allies outside government as well as from the government itself. www.thebulwark.com/p/trumps-ele...

Go to your camera roll and search "boat" and then post a picture of a boat you like.

When Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens begins playing “Old Corn Liquor,” a traditional Black American folk tune, acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man recognizes similarities to Chinese pentatonic music and spontaneously joins in. The joy on their faces says it all.

In honor of Katie Zacharia's short White House tenure, I once worked only one shift as a dishwasher at Captain Bob’s restaurant in Ocean City, Md., in the summer of 1987. Worst job ever…

It’s warm enough in Pittsburgh for me to lower the car windows, blare Gerry Rafferty, and pretend I’m in Indian Summer 1878. Bliss. #AT40

I’m on maybe my 10th listen to Billy Strings’ album “So Much for Goodbyes,” released Aug. 28. This is a slow burn that’s incredible from start to finish. Thank God for Billy Strings.

BREAKING: Today, I'm introducing a bill to BAN corporate takeovers of your doctor's office. Doctors should be able to care for their patients without greedy private equity investors getting in the way. Let's get this done.

I don’t listen to Ed Sheeran or Macklemore. But I so wish they had planned a Pittsburgh stop on this tour so that the Rooney family could tell Robert Kraft to shove his boycott up his ass.

Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese pop artist known for polka dot-covered work and “infiniti rooms,” has passed away at 97. Here’s an image from a permanent installation at Pittsburgh’s Mattress Factory. You can immerse yourself in this one.

Another great free show at Hartwood Acres near Pittsburgh tonight. The Wood Brothers with a zen message for a Sunday night: “The trick is not to give a damn.”

“Seventeen” is the kind of song I only *really* hear for the first time here. When I was 9, I could not have related to how sad this is… #AT40 😕

Thanks to Canadian wildfires, Pittsburgh looks like the “smokey city” or “hell with the lid off” once again. But no steel mills this time. (Photo credit: WTAE-TV)

A Pittsburgh fireworks display is tough to beat. 🇺🇸

My favorite part of the fireworks at Pittsburgh is the sound, hearing it reverberate off the mountains and the skyscrapers and the stadium, it's so unique.

Oh, man. I LOVE Poco! I’m so glad they got a couple of hits to pay the bills. “Heart of the Night” is guitarist Paul Cotton’s. #AT40
