If they had these in Barcelona all the tickets would be issued to motorcycles and scooters.

Boston is considering noise cameras that detect excessively loud cars, capture their license plates, and send the owner a fine by mail.

Barcelona should recover Tres Ulls, and make it the center of a new park. It's still there, but it was buried long ago.

I'm taking a long flight to BC next week. The news is that there are a hundred wildfires burning there. The planet can't take any more GHGs. This will be my last flight until they invent zero-emissions planes. From now on I'll only go to places I can get to by train. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

I just visited Toledo for the first time. It's an amazing place! Beautiful and historic! But for some reason they let cars roam all over it and park everywhere. You literally have to flee into door openings to get out of their way.

I figure that the cars parked on my street in Barcelona take up about 30% of the space on the street belong to about 1% of the residents/employees/customers who are in the buildings on the block. 30% of the street space monopolized by 1% of the people. It must be worse in Toledo.

In the US there's a real need for advocates to push for smaller, more nimble emergency vehicles. Fire department access requirements have made the streets wide, fast and dangerous. They've vetoed many proposed bike lanes and traffic calming efforts. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/06/26/f...

Other countries have much, much smaller vehicles. I've read that medical motorcycles are being used that can get to emergencies in a fraction of the time of an ambulance and save lives.

New bike lanes down the middle of Meridiana (in Barcelona) are coming along. Trees already planted.

The board game library at Glories seems really popular. Nobody's on their phone!

This is a small part of the works for the new La Sagrera multimodal station. To the left is the train station, to the right is the metro, and the big hole in the middle is the main entry. #urbanism #barcelona

This monumental axis passes through 5 buildings across three blocks. It should be open to the public and urbanized. #urbanism #barcelona

2)...It includes not only an intermodal station with high-speed, regional and commuter trains at 16 platforms, but also a new metro station, a big intercity bus terminal, rail barns for provisioning and maintenance, hotels, a separate train station for local service (Sant Andreu),...

Hidden gem in my workaday BCN neighborhood: Plaça de Masadas. Every evening the center of the plaza is filled with children running wild while their parents imbibe at the cafes that line the surrounding arcade. #ubanism #barcelona

Wrap your head around this: Spain is about 25% bigger than California in both population and area, but Spain has 2500 miles of high speed rail and California has none. Forth largest economy in the world my foot!!!

New park in my hood that is important for two reasons: It provides new landscaping around a 1000-year-old farmhouse (Torre del Fang, seen covered in graffiti), and it's the first little bit of what will eventually be a 2.5 mile long park extending to the Besòs river. beteve.cat/societat/est...

They've just planted some pretty huge trees at the new park that's going in 'round the corner. Their trunks look to be about 24" diameter. To the left is a thousand-year-old farm house (Torre del Fang) and background is a garden folly by Calatrava.

You are up to date.
