My top 100 TV shows would include at least one of the Scandi noirs, The Bridge, The Killing, more recently the Chestnut Man. The NYT list seems entirely -Centric. Good to see Happy Valley on there though!

There's a film where Olivia Coleman plays a fisherwoman who makes herself a husband from wicker. Astonishingly, they did not call it Wickermaleon. Missed opportunity.

Slavic female friend of mine tells me rather pointedly: "We have saying: Just because you asked a man to do something, doesn't mean you get to remind him Every. Six. Months!"

Day 2 of posting only fun or positive things on Bluesky. 5 days no booze moderate eating mild exercise today. Definitely clearer headed and getting more done each day.

Entertaining to see 'progressive' Americans immediately suggest (even jokingly) leveraging superpower military status to reverse a football decision they disagree with. Then finding to their horror the next day, that's exactly who they are, that's what their country always was.

Pretty sure US can re-open the strait of Hormuz by stopping the bombing and withdrawing their navy and telling Israel to do the same. Same as Russia can achieve peace in Ukraine by withdrawing their army and stopping the attacks.

Remarkable that the guy who spends his whole political career remote working away from Clacton, should insist people should end remote working. Look forward to seeing him in his constituency office every week....

BREAKING: Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home and the focus on work-life balance "People aren't more productive working from home - it's a load of nonsense” Whatever you do JUST DON’T VOTE REFORM!

BBC radio 4 toady Tom Lubbock saying trump's approval was normal for second term presidents and the same as Obama and Bush? And that he was an extraordinary president in so many ways?

Might have guessed. Tory now leaning Reformer. Called trump's 1.5% popular vote election win "a landslide". Of course his trump points go unchallenged on the Today program.

I don't know why Newsome thinks he's winning voters speaking out against European leaders. They *are* united Vs Trump on Greenland. And he's lying if he thinks this was predictable a year ago. This bit wasn't in the campaign speeches.

Giving strong War Photographer vibes here. Great photo, great courage.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Would fit as a tweet from Elon Musk, Tommy Robinson or a headline in the Telegraph. Equates legal refugee status with illegal migrants. I just don't recognise this Labour party. I don't know what voter base they think they're catering to. Or what their principles are.

Prediction: the people who supported sex offender, election denier, seditious conspiracy, classified document concealer, disabled mocker, veteran hater, faithless bible ignoramus, anti Vax, racist Trump: those people won't move their dial one percentage point for pedo Trump.

This is the most explicit "didn't think they'd eat my face" article. He's still really enjoying Trump and the military brutalising people he doesn't like... trans people, Palestinians, free speech of the left, immigrants... It's just that now he sees his own people further down the list.

This post is unavailable.

And let's not forget his Russophile peace-making in Ukraine... If they only give Putin everything, they'll have peace.

Dan Silverman@dmsilverman.bsky.social

Peacemaker abroad! Except when he: -bombed Iran -bombed alleged Venezuelan drug boats -blew up the pacifying global trade system -threatened to annex territory from Panama, Denmark, Canada, & Gaza -wants troops again in Afghanistan -threatened military action against Venezuela and Mexico

Which headteacher did Radio 4 Today choose to platform? Birbalsingh, the most right wing of them all. Of course. And did they bring a balancing voice? No. So we had no discussion of the govt bill, just some character assassination of Philipson and lies about Gove not being top-down in policy.

Thousands of Londoners have indefinite leave to remain. They have legal rights and are our friends, neighbours and colleagues, contributing hugely to our city. Threatening to deport people living and working here legally is unacceptable.

Yesterday: lib Dems should put forward policies not rely on gimmicks Today (Lib Dem Conference begins): Farage's latest insane anti migrants policy is headline news. Zero coverage of Lib Dems.

The absolute stink the republicans threw up about a totally legitimate FBI raid, warrant, badges on Trump after months of notice, with nuclear secrets in an unsecured bathroom. Compare SCOTUS shredding 4th amendment rights in the face of warrantless ICE raids by masked, badgeless thugs.

85% of comments on every YouTube short re immigration: "Why don't they stop in the first safe country?" Like it's the best gotcha ever, and no one ever thought to ask it till they burped it up. My reply: Why don't you look it up, you halfwit? It's not hard to find out the reasons. Google it FFS.
