Companies importing goods from USA can reclaim any VAT. Only end consumers pay vat. VAT isn’t equivalent to a tariff. There is perhaps an argument that all uk ecom companies selling to USA consumers should pay a minimum sales tax - but many already do pay state sales taxes (due to state nexus laws)

Anyone who has used Compromise Agreements knows the employee is given a choice of (a) a full investigation into alleged misconduct which may result in dismissal if proved and (b) a mutually agreed exit now plus some compensation. Most go for Option B. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
