Hi all, If anyone has the time to complete a survey about teaching the American West over this summer, it would be hugely appreciated. It’s not a super quick survey but should only take about 15-17 minutes. Thanks in advance for any help. #historyteacher

Summer is always a balance between children, house and a bit of work. Today is all about downtime and family as we experience the medieval joust at Lincoln Castle. Always a highlight of the year for our family and it hasn’t disappointed! #historyteacher #summerholidays #castle #medieval

Looks like a great event here - and it’s free!

E Pringle@ehp14.bsky.social

I love CPD and learning but cost is often a factor! What I love about @ttrhistory.bsky.social is that it is completely accessible in terms of cost - FREE. The people involved give their time freely to share good practice & ideas. Teaching community at it’s best ♥️ www.eventbrite.com/e/teachers-t...

Revisited our ‘Curriculum in Objects’ initiative. Initial idea of student led inferences remains in place but we’ve switched to connected closed questions to build confidence and frame the concepts and understanding we want to take forward into the topic. #historyteacher

Such a great podcast and resource to use when curriculum planning for next year! #historyteacher

Really like these 'tweaks' that @jacquiramsden.bsky.social has made to our Define, Connect, Use, Recall sheets in connecting the often abstract key word to concrete examples. This, combined with our review quizzes, will really help improve our work on literacy. Great collaboration! #historyteacher

So Oak's new AI lesson planner has really got me thinking. Who exactly is it aimed at? My guess is that the most likely people to use it are new teachers and those with limited subject knowledge on a topic. So how well does it do the job if that's you? I thought I'd try it out...

2/7 It began with the brilliant Teaching Medieval Women project by @uonhumanities.bsky.social This led to a review of our KS3 curriculum through an inclusion lens—resulting in new units exploring global power structures in the medieval world, beyond Britain and beyond the male lens. 🌍👑

And finally, by using live marking, I picked up so many more misconceptions and could intervene in the moment - giving feedback so they knew where they were on the journey. 4/4

One thing I love about teaching history is the opportunity to continue learning all the time. And yes, I do know that that makes me a huge geek, but it also means I am super excited to head to @uonhumanities.bsky.social for their ‘teaching mediaeval women’ day today. #historyteacher #cpd
