I think this man probably need to stop drinking. EU is the most peaceful thing ever formed. πŸ₯ƒ at least he didn’t say β€œWhiskeyβ€œ

Note to self. If you have an Azure policy that require a tag with a date. Terraform has a plantimestamp function. This will actually produce an output during plan stage, and allow #Azure to evaluate before deployment. regular timestamp function will not work

Simples solutions are often the best. Today I spent two hours reading up on how to investigate issues with metrics API in #Kubernetes After a while i just decided to restart the pods. All good now.

I forgot I had this post laying around, after all I don't write that often. But I know you appreciate my cheesy PowerPoint illustration without any AI. Anyway. The post is about how to do a canary rollout to #Kubernetes with vanilla NGINX. #Flux and #ArgoCD is great, but its not necessarily needed.πŸš€

adatum.noCanary rollouts to Kubernetes without additional tools - adatumFlagger and Argo. Both leading in progressive rollout to Kubernetes. However, NGINX have the capability alone, so maybe its sufficient to you

Can a faulty regex stop #Azure policy from evaluating. I have a parameter against #AKS which uses a regex. The evaluation has not run for two days. And i'm thinking i'm at fault. No error messages

A great enhancement to #Bicep in #Azure would be to execute an Azure Resource Graph query... No deployment scripts, just execute and use what ever with the result. Currently doing some work with workload identity for #Kubernetes where this would be handy.

Today I learned: If you have an app on #Kubernetes that do not run as root. And the app support file upload above 1Mb, its not enough to allow the container to write to an upload folder.

Multi part uploads in #Python (above 1Mb) will write the chunks to the temp directory before it ends up in the upload folder. My solution in this case was to change the TMP directory to be same as upload folder πŸ’‘ after finding this stackoverflow.com/questions/63...

A great example of where AI will waste your time. There's no way to access a #K8S config map cross namespaces by specifying this as a field. A collogue thought this was the truth, asked me, and I thought it might be a new feature. So now we wasted two peoples time 😏

Anyone here who has experience with KarakenD API gateway? From the looks of it, community edition looks good. But I need some enterprise features, but can’t find any pricing info. #KrakenD #kubernetes

Creating an agent for #Microsoft #Copilot must be the most annoying thing out there. How messy can it be. Solutions, agents, custom connectors. I only want this agent to call an endpoint. I know the API works

Before you jump in to Azure advisor to buy or renew your reserved instances - how about you spend a few hours on where your money goes? This image shows impact on one of our #Kubernetes clusters #CloudCost #MVPBuzz #CostManagement #FinOps

The changes made here in order of impact πŸ€‘ Delete unused clusters πŸ€– Spent 20 minutes on analytics and scaled one application using #KEDA. Translates to 5 nodes during slow hours 🫨 Change VM sku and move to ephemeral disks (this is standard for a few years, but who updates their IaC, right?)

So what does not show. Graph shows only one region - we have three. Number of VMs and number of pods = logs and metrics. So the hidden costs are definitely playing a role here

Just got 9 transactions on 199.99USD each on my #curve card. I have reported it, and from a quick google search it seems like I’m not the only one. If you have Curve, I advise you to block your card in the app in case it’s a data breach.

If you’re an audience at a tech conference. Do you prefer live demos, or pre-recorded? I personally always to live, but I would gladly change if recorded is preferred.

The year is nearing an end. But next year I want to help more young, aspiring talents in their #Microsoft #tech journey. Especially great if we can have more female voices in our community. Norway is packed with tech talent, but too often I find my self catching up with the same old group.

A few weeks ago, i played around with Prometheus and used the #GitHub copilot usage API for data. If you're interested in looking at #Copilot usage through Grafana or similar. I published the .NET application here #MVPBuzz github.com/ehrnst/GitHu...
