🌍 The ground is never completely still - even when it seems quiet. But what does that mean for the Einstein Telescope? Meet Shi Yao, our #et_young researcher at TU Dresden, currently based at KIT! Shi models seismic waves and tiny gravity changes that can affect ET’s sensitivity. 🌌

At the 2-3 Sept APPEC meeting in Geneva, participants fine-tuned the European Astroparticle Physics Strategy 2027-2036. In the draft document, the Einstein Telescope was named the next major flagship project for gravitational-wave astronomy. Final roadmap due end of 2026! #EinsteinTelescope

The first joint ET-LISA Synergy Project is bringing together 40+ scientists to build shared code for joint gravitational-wave analyses. Combining observations across different frequency bands will reveal more about the early Universe than either detector alone. 🔗https://lnkd.in/ds5puvMb

🔦 #ET_young Meet Romano Meijer, System Engineer at the Einstein Telescope Organisation Project Office at Nikhef. Romano helps bring together the many technologies behind ET into one coherent design. Off the clock? He's often under the stars, capturing galaxies like M101 with his own telescope. 🔭✨

News from the #GravitationalWaves world. The latest LIGO–Virgo–KAGRA catalog brings the total number of detected signals to 390. 3 highlights: record sky localization, the clearest signal yet, and new evidence for “second-generation” black holes. With ET, much more will come. Read: lnkd.in/dKuuQs4r

ET-COMPASS 🧭, a new €1.5M EC-funded project, will launch in early 2027 to support the Einstein Telescope’s path to implementation by strengthening governance, costing, operations, membership growth and partnerships. Thanks to all partners! Read more: lnkd.in/gsUCWXN #HorizonEurope #ESFRI

The ET-PP Annual Meeting brought the Einstein Telescope community together in Barcelona on 5–7 May to review progress, align ongoing work and discuss the transition beyond ETPP. A lot is still ahead, but EU support, ESFRI’s strategic framework and European cooperation have built a strong foundation.

Today, 11 February, #GW stands for two things: #GravitationalWaves 〰️ and #Girls&Women ❤️. We mark 10 years since the first GW detection announcement (11 Feb 2016) and the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Both began in 2015 (GW150914). ✨

📢 16–17 Feb 2026 | Sapienza University of Rome Workshop: “Einstein Telescope Research Infrastructure: Challenges and Long-Term Sustainability” Who it’s for: researchers, tech & industry, LCA, smart energy & logistics, sustainable procurement, etc. 🗓️ Register by: 1 Feb 2026 ➡️ shorturl.at/y36hC

2026 is opening with many options for early-career researchers interested in Einstein Telescope science — from workshops and international schools to training resources you can access anytime.✨ 👉 Check ET page for more opportunities: shorturl.at/3wjE6 Photo: SIGRAV International School 2026

A check-in moment🤝: Einstein Telescope Organisation and CERN met to align on shared objectives for ET. From vacuum and materials to manufacturing, civil engineering and safety, CERN’s engineering expertise supports key ET activities — and opens the door to powerful synergies✨.

📸 #ET_Snapshot So much is happening across Europe around the Einstein Telescope right now — new milestones on site studies, deep-tech innovation, and political support are landing almost daily. Full roundup here 👉https://shorturl.at/jQSyr

Autumn ET Collaboration workshops boosted ET tech: ET-LF TM Tower Integration (Isola d’Elba) refined the low-frequency test-mass tower, super-attenuator control, cryostat interface & baseline steps. MAD25 (Berlin) united GW, materials & industry to develop crystals for ultra-sensitive components.

🌟 Wrapped up the ET Annual Meeting in Opatija! Four days of plenaries, sessions, collaboration, and community events come to an end. Thank you to everyone for your talks, posters, discussions, and ideas shaping the next steps of ET. ✨ Together we build the future of GW astronomy! #ET_meeting

The 4th Einstein Telescope Annual Meeting has started in Opatija, hosted by the University of Rijeka. Over the next four days, participants will discuss key aspects of the ET collaboration and design — shaping the future of #gravitationalwave research.

Einstein’s theory passes another test — and black holes reveal new secrets. The latest LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA results uncover rare, fast-spinning mergers that may be second-generation black holes, born from earlier cosmic encounters. 💫 Image: Carl Knox, OzGrav #EinsteinTelescope #GravitationalWaves

🌍 Lusatia joins as the 3d candidate site for ET! After the June 2025 BGR meeting, Lusatia (Saxony, 🇩🇪) has officially become a candidate location — alongside Sardinia 🇮🇹 and the Euregio Meuse-Rhine 🇧🇪🇩🇪🇳🇱. Preparatory studies are underway, led by Christian Stegmann (DESY). shorturl.at/HwaRq

Meet Ulyana Dupletsa, postdoc at HEPHY in Vienna 🌍 She developed key tools for ET performance studies and now helps coordinate science case analyses. 💬 “It’s inspiring to be part of a community shaping the future of gravitational-wave astronomy.” #ET_young #ResearchInfrastructures #ET_women
