So, the rumors are true ... @zberm.bsky.social will be on with me for tomorrow's episode of the PHLY Eagles Podcast! We're going to do a mailbag, so send us your questions, #Eagles, books, or otherwise, and we'll go through them tomorrow at 2 p.m.!

While Vic Fangio did seriously entertain retiring as recently as last week, my understanding that is no longer the case and that the #Eagles are confident in his return at this point after much persuasion. He's expected to be back as defensive coordinator next season.

Rich's work is excellent. Even if you didn't have a vantage point of the time and energy he put into making each one feel personal, witty, and thoughtful, you could tell it every morning as you read through it. Signing up for what's next is a no-brainer ⬇️

So, what's next? Dunno, I got a little time to figure it out. I do have one idea, though: What if I kept doing the same newsletter independently? Who knows, it might even be better. If that's something you might be interested in, drop your email here 👇 forms.gle/tThExie8pQb2...

Can confirm the #Eagles are promoting Joe Kasper to DBs coach/defensive pass-game coordinator, as @cameronwolfe.bsky.social reported. Kasper had interest elsewhere, including with Jonathan Gannon in Green Bay, but decided to stay with the Eagles in the role vacated by Christian Parker.

To close the loop re: Mike McDaniel and the #Eagles, McDaniel had a lengthy interview with the organization virtually this week according to multiple league sources. Not in-person, but the team did have contact with him before McDaniel decided to take the Chargers OC job.

Quinyon Mitchell now up to four postseason interceptions, which is pretty funny considering he's got none in the regular season and made All-Pro this year anyway lol.

Throwing/kicking into the north side of the stadium has been an adventure with the wind. The #Eagles offense will start with the ball in plus territory after a 25-yard punt going that way lol

Quinyon Mitchell only gets interceptions in the playoffs. His first pick of the year and he rifles the ball into the 20th row in celebration. Big-time response by the #Eagles corner after getting targeted consistently early in the game.

Replay assist to the rescue! Dallas Goedert's second touchdown of the game was initially called back for an ineligible man downfield, but replay assist intervened and overturned the call on the field. Didn't even know that could happen. #Eagles

#Eagles run game is getting rolling. Barkley up to 64 rushing yards on 12 attempts and Tank Bigsby is picking up right where he left off with 20 yards on three straight carries.

This hasn't been a success rate offense this year, but that was a drive more about consistency than explosives. Not a single negative play on that drive from the #Eagles.

Fred Johnson is back in after getting looked at by trainers quickly. #Eagles

Fred Johnson is hurt and coming off. Matt Pryor is in at right tackle. #Eagles

Of all the players I would have expected to be targeted three times in the 49ers' first six plays, Quinyon Mitchell would have been pretty much at the bottom of the list. SF strikes first and quickly largely thanks to two completion to Demarcus Robinson vs. Mitchell. #Eagles

Jalen Hurts has been different this year. More outspoken, more likely to show up to a teammates' event and more aware that the journey he's on can be an inclusive one. On how the #Eagles winning a Super Bowl informed Hurts' pursuit of another this postseason: allphly.com/eagles-jalen...

Very interesting context to Jalen Hurts’ season here from EJ. #WifeGuy

Looked like Tanner McKee had Kylen Granson open there, but instead throws into traffic for his first career INT. That's two straight trips to the red zone without any points for the #Eagles, who are getting the help they need from the Lions to make this game consequential.

Brandon Johnson is walking off on his own power. Mac McWilliams has come into the defensive huddle in his place, which is interesting. #Eagles

DeVonta Smith has now surpassed 1,000 receiving yards on the season. He's the only #Eagles receiver with a target so far today lol. I'd suspect his evening is over before too much longer.

DeVonta Smith is starting, presumably in pursuit of the 44 yards he needs to surpass 1,000 receiving yards on the season. He gets 17 on the first play from scrimmage, 27 left to go. #Eagles

You love to see it.

Aston Villa recorded a 73.1% share of possession against Nottingham Forest, which is their third highest in a Premier League game at Villa Park since Opta have recorded this data (2003-04). Their tally of 574 successful passes was also their most this league season. #AVFC

#Eagles offense has now gone three-and-out on four consecutive series, the last of which comes in response to a Buffalo scoring drive. Aagainst one of the worst run defenses in the NFL ...

After spending the offseason in support of banning the Tush Push, the Bills run their version of it to go within a score of the #Eagles midway through the fourth quarter.

A.J. Brown has now surpassed 1,000 receiving yards on the season. A year with plenty of frustration for Brown, but he's been productive down the stretch for the #Eagles nonetheless.

Jalen Carter is back. The #Eagles DT conceded he won't be 100% this season, but he's on the board in his first game since undergoing a procedure on both shoulders. That's his third sack of the season.

The good news: Jalen Hurts has been dynamic on this series with a few tight-window throws and some extended plays out of structure. The bad news: Hurts took a shot on the sideline and seems to be in some pain as a result. Looked like a late hit by Cam Lewis, fwiw. #Eagles
