Chuck Grassley makes a horrible MAGA Grand Inquisitor against Jack Smith. You can tell that he knows he's being horribly unfair to a good man at the behest of the Mad King and that his heart is not really in it.

I was taken aback that the Republican senate was going to question Jack Smith as that was giving him a forum to talk about Trump's brazen & obvious guilt in keeping classified documents in places like the Mar a Lago men's room. I learned why they are calling him this morning with Chuck Grassley

going full-blown MAGA loonie, cobbling together a tall tale about how Smith & his fellow prosecutors actually violated all the rights of the poor Republicans. This will almost surely blow up in their faces, as the Democratic senators will give Smith every chance to condemn Trump with the facts.

@djrothkopf.bsky.social On your recent podcast you said that Trump impounded something like $800 million in funds appropriated by Congress because he wants to control everything. No doubt that explains almost all of Trump's conduct but don't forget about the influence of far rightwing actors like

Susan Collins has spent years cultivating her image as a “moderate.” Her fundraising tells a different story. A new Meidas News report reveals Collins recently attended a fundraiser hosted by MAGA mega-donors and right-wing power players.

@monacharen.bsky.social How can we take character into account normally when we are dealing & battling with the 100% scurrilous Trump & the pathetically weak & spineless Republicans? The primary objective must be to get rid of Trump & his MAGA zombies in order to save our republic.

Ken Paxton owns four luxury homes in Utah worth over $2 million. Paxton previously fled to Utah during the deadly 2021 Texas winter storm, as millions of Texans had no access to water or power.

The money quote, buried deep in this article: "Doing so would provide extraordinarily valuable support to Israel and its military and intelligence service without explicitly requiring Congress to sign off on sending a set amount of federal money to Jerusalem each year." So why isn't Fox news televising interviews of all the happy people who live near data centers so we can hear what a treat it is to live with the constant noise, lights, increased utility costs and non-existent new jobs?

My candidate for the most cynical, belly-laugh-out-loud-funny, statement of the year, made by a Danielle Alvarez, ID'd as an "outside spokesperson" for Trump & plopped into the middle of a Wall Street Journal article about Trump strong-arming hundreds of millions of dollars from

Six congressmen bought between $83,000 to $245,000 in SpaceX stock just before its IPO: -Jared Moskowitz -Gil Cisneros -Dan Meuser -John McGuire -William Timmons -John James Five serve on committees whose work impacts SpaceX's business. We must ban members of Congress from trading stock.

What an inexcusable snake Bobby Junior is: "And why did I hear so much about Fauci’s diary this week? 'Paul released excerpts from said diary earlier this week. (Yes, Fauci kept a diary from that time and somehow it got into the hands of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.,

Of all the many things wrong with "Morning Joe," is anything worse than their ceaseless efforts to make Rahm Emanuel into a thing? That they're so clueless about how hated Emanuel is by 95% of Democrats calls into question the validity of their opinions about anything else

I've never understood why so many of our "intelligentsia" at a point in time decided as a group that monopoly & huge conglomerates were good & that we should cease our anti-trust efforts. Such consolidation contradicts many of the assumptions underlying the idea of free

market capitalism & puts way too much power in the hands of too few oligarchic people. We need a strong dose of Teddy Roosevelt's trust busting, especially in the media.

In 1933, Justice Louis Brandeis said: “We can have democracy in this country or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of the few, but we cannot have both.” What he said was true 93 years ago. It’s even more accurate today. Let us choose democracy over oligarchy.

@ms.now Why are you using a photograph of Susan Collins obviously taken at least 30 years ago?! That was a fovorite trick of the old Abigail Van Buren column in the newspapers. Show her as she currently appears. That's not unfair. It's depicting the facts.
