VOTE. You're not alone in that booth. The poor are with you. Immigrants are with you. Epstein survivors are with you. Farmers are with you. The souls who have died at the hands of ICE or are in detention centers are with you. VOTE.

"Come up trumps" (or "turn up trumps"): A common British idiom meaning to produce a surprisingly good result, succeed unexpectedly, or have a friend/resource help out generously in a time of need. (This comes from card games where a "trump" card beats all others).

Before the European tariffs, I paid $13 for a 7 oz wedge of my favorite brand of pecorino-romano cheese. It's now $20. Let's not even talk about the price of gas, which may be lowered but will cost real Ukrainian lives. I am nauseous from so much winning. Early voting begins on the 22nd. VOTE!

I came to BlueSky b/c I understood it to be heavily left-leaning, so less fighting w/ strangers. I don't mind when ppl are crabby. When ppl get abusive, I block them. Unapologetically. I'm blocking more ppl these days. And bad cartoon art bordering on pornography. Getting ready to pull the plug.

Some evangelical pastors support the Trump administration’s immigration policies. Last year, the SBC Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission withdrew from the Evangelical Immigration Table ... because its positions were seen as too controversial. religionnews.com/2026/10/15/e...

religionnews.comIn rare joint statement, evangelicals and Catholic bishops urge compassionate immigration laws(RNS) — Catholic bishops and leaders from the National Association of Evangelicals drew on the Bible and Declaration of Independence to make a case for immigration reform.

36 days till the General Election; 22 days till the start of Early Voting "One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics and voting is that you end up being governed by your inferiors." - Plato

This just makes me weep with grief. Could we have been that weak to have crumbled that quickly (was Kruschev right, and ‘democracy contains the seeds of its own destruction ') or is this an example of what happens when destructive power is unchecked and unbridled?

Trump doesn't care about polls. He doesn't care what people think of him. He does care about the price of gas, beef, or healthcare. He only cares about three things: Making money, completely changing the White House, and leaving his name on as many buildings as he can in Washington, DC.

A Nor'easter is coming up the coast, whipping up the wind, which is frolicking with a King Tide, the highest predicted high tide of the year at a coastal location. King Tide is not due until the end of October, but a low-pressure system combined with the Equinox is irresistible to Mother Nature.

I guess he figures that as long as we're worried about him tearing down the Kennedy Center, building a ballroom, & the war in Iran, etc., we won't worry about the Epstein Files. This was sung by the Gay Men's Chorus last night at the DC demonstration. genius.com/Joshua-henry...
