Today marks 3 years since Bremerton's Race Equity Advisory Commission was created by city law — and for three years, Mayor Wheeler has defied that law by refusing to appoint even a single member. For three years, residents have been denied their voice in Kitsap's most diverse city.

If you believe in accountability and equity, make your voice heard. Contact Mayor Wheeler directly and demand he follow the law: 📧 Greg.Wheeler@ci.bremerton.wa.us 📞 360-473-5266 Share this. Speak up. Bremerton deserves better. #Bremerton #RaceEquity #BremertonWA

With less than half of Bremerton ballots counted on Election Night, I chose to wait for a meaningful number of votes before sharing any update. As of this evening’s results, nearly three-fourths of Bremerton ballots have now been counted, and it’s clear the path to winning is extremely unlikely.

Congratulations to Mayor Greg Wheeler on winning a third term. To every volunteer, neighbor, and supporter who invested your time, energy, and belief in this campaign — thank you from the bottom of my heart. The outpouring of community support has meant more to me than I can express.

I’ve deeply valued the thousands of conversations we’ve shared at doors, events, and community gatherings. Bremerton’s future depends on all of us working together. I remain committed to helping bridge a brighter future for our city — side by side with you. ❤️ — Jeff Coughlin

Thank you to every volunteer, every family, every neighborhood, and every union hall that stood with us. We showed what’s possible when a community comes together. Together, we are Bridging a Brighter Bremerton. 💙 #Bremerton #Kitsap #Community

I'm so incredibly grateful to my family and so many friends and neighbors for all the support over this long campaign. ❤️ -Jeff (And so grateful to Jasper Neal with Jasper Blue Photography for taking amazing pictures!!) #Bremerton #Pride #Vote

Today I skipped campaigning and spent the day volunteering at Bremerton Foodline, because the need is so great right now. Serving our community isn’t just policy, it’s personal. Proud of the amazing work they do to fight hunger and support our neighbors. #Bremerton #CommunityFirst #FoodBank

Thank you to all those who have already stepped up to help furloughed workers in these difficult times, such as @bremertonfoodline.bsky.social, @kitsaptransit.bsky.social, @pugetsoundenergy.bsky.social, Cascade Natural Gas, and many more. @ifpte.bsky.social @nffe.bsky.social

Many #Bremerton families — especially Shipyard workers — are going without pay during the shutdown. Kitsap Transit, PSE, Cascade Gas & Foodline have stepped up. It’s time for the City to follow suit and let furloughed workers defer utility payments until paychecks resume.

Honored to receive the first-ever Tommy’s Story Hour honor coin for advocating with the disability community. Grateful to meet Hailey and friends, who provided clothes and food for our unhoused neighbors—and whose stories reinforced the need for a hybrid shelter with wraparound services. #Bremerton

My thanks to local superstar Martitha May and all the amazing people at Kitsap Immigrant Assistance Center for the work they do! 💙 It was a gala and fundraiser like none other — uplifting, powerful, and full of hope in these challenging times. #Bremerton #Kitsap #ImmigrantJustice #CommunityFirst

Honored to receive the *sole* endorsement of the 26th LD Democrats for Mayor of Bremerton! 💙 This campaign is about progress, opportunity, and building a stronger Bremerton — together. 💙⚓️ #Bremerton #BremertonWA #BremertonWashington #Vote #VoteLocal

Honored to join the Filipino American Association of Kitsap County in celebrating Indigenous People’s Day, Filipino American History Month, and 250 years of the Navy — and to speak about the spirit of community that makes Bremerton shine. 🇵🇭⚓️ #Bremerton

🌉 Always great connecting with neighbors at this year’s Bridging Bremerton! I’m looking forward to the day we finally cross on a modern, 12-foot path thanks to the design I worked with community to secure that's accessible, forward-looking, and the most cost-effective option.

Met with yet another #Bremerton #SmallBusiness owner stuck in permits for over two years. Stories like this are far too common — driving businesses away and leaving storefronts empty. As mayor, I’ll fix our broken permitting system and build a vibrant, welcoming city. #Vote

Absolutely honored to have attended and spoken at the 2025 #NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet! 🎉 This incredible event celebrated our fight for justice and reignited our commitment to a brighter future for everyone. Let’s keep uplifting our communities and championing #equality! ✊ #Unity #JusticeMatters

✅ I’m committed to working with City Council, not against them. As Mayor, I’ll rebuild trust, make collaboration the rule, and focus on progress over politics so we can actually move our city forward. #BetterBremerton #Collaboration

Accountability isn’t optional. It’s leadership. I’ll hold myself, my team, and our local government to the highest standards. Trust is built through transparency and collaboration—and when we build relationships openly, we move Bremerton forward together. 🔎 #BremertonForward

Honored to attend tonight’s 9/11 Memorial flag-raising 🇺🇸 and Sunday’s 9/11 SOS event with Kitsap County. Strong reminder of the need for emergency preparedness— as Mayor I’ll strengthen communication, support first responders, and partner regionally and locally. #NeverForget #Bremerton

Huge thanks to the Manette Business Association for another amazing Manette Fest — and so touching to see the parade named in honor of Ruth Resse ❤️. While the current Mayor is proposing to cap the number of special events like this, I’ll make sure #Bremerton fully supports them.

Every dollar counts — especially yours. I’ll ensure Bremerton budgets reflect our priorities: safe streets, affordable housing, and thriving small businesses. No waste, no excuses — just fiscal responsibility. 💵✅ #SmartSpending #BremertonForward

🚒Bremerton is tired of back-room deals and ignored input. As mayor, I’ll open budgets and plans so firefighters, teachers, community leaders, and every resident can see what’s happening. When you speak up, we’ll act on it. That’s how we build trust and a stronger Bremerton. 💪

Permitting might not be glamorous — but it can make or break a growing city. Right now, Bremerton’s system is broken. Businesses & homeowners are stuck in endless delays and red tape. I’ll start by fixing the permitting process. #CutTheRedTape #BremertonForward

We’re heading to the general election — and with your help, we’re going to win this! Thank you to everyone who turned out and voted in the primary. While ballots are still being counted, the results send a clear message: Bremerton is ready for change, and we’re going to make it happen.

A special thank you to Marwan Cameron for running a campaign rooted in community and focused on real issues. I’m grateful he ran, and I appreciate his dedication to our city — and for spotlighting so many challenges that deserve real solutions, not more of the same from the current administration.

We’ve got work to do — I’m ready to do it, and I know that together, we can get this done. #Bremerton #Kitsap #PNW #BremertonWA #BremertonVotes #ChangeBremerton #ForwardTogether #PeoplePowered #VoteLocal

For a two-term incumbent to be sitting around 50% in a low-turnout primary shows just how much energy there is for something better. With hard work and your support, we can win in November — and Bridge a Brighter Bremerton we all deserve.
