🚨 The Govt announces new loans for electric tech incl. heat pumps, solar & batteries 🚨 This is really positive. With upfront cost the biggest barrier to households going electric, govt-backed, no- and low-interest loans will be really helpful for people who can borrow [1] www.gov.uk/government/n...

gov.ukWarm Homes Loan Scheme: FactsheetHow the government's Warm Homes Loan scheme can help households install clean energy technology and save money on bills.

The loan scheme is designed to sit on top of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant of up to £9,000. This combination is what makes a heat pump affordable for a typical homeowner, so any cut to the BUS grant tomorrow would undermine the loan scheme [2]

The loans scheme will grow and develop as the market matures over time. We need to make sure that installers have confidence and can access the finance they need to train staff. This means wider certainty over policy & funding. All 👀 on the Budget tomorrow! [3]

Cutting the Warm Homes Plan now would leave households exposed to expensive oil & gas for longer; put jobs at risk; and send the wrong signal to businesses and industry. The PM has pledged to make people’s lives easier. Delivering the WHP in full is an obvious way to do that.

The answer? Electrify now. ⚡ We need a clear, joined-up electrification strategy that accelerates heat pump adoption, supports the shift to electric vehicles and makes better use of the clean electricity we're already generating. That means backing the Warm Homes Plan.

More domestic production won't solve the underlying problem. Our reliance on fossil fuels to heat homes, power vehicles and run businesses leaves us exposed to volatile international prices. Fewer than 2% of UK households have heat pumps.

A 116-year-old swimming pool is proving that clean energy can make a real difference. Since installing solar panels, Yearsley Swimming Pool has cut its grid electricity use by 53% and expects to save £25,000 a year on energy bills.

Lower costs means more resources can be invested where they matter most - keeping this historic community pool running for years to come. #electrification #electrifybritain #yearsleypool #York #solarpower #communitypool

As Nicola Newby spoke to our CEO Camilla born about the installation at the Minster, they discussed how data from the system is now helping identify opportunities to expand its impact even further.

It’s a powerful example of how historic buildings can embrace modern technology while protecting their energy future. #Electrification, #ElectrifyBritain, #SolarEnergy, #YorkMinister, #EnergyBills

Gillian’s electric car can be charged during the day using the solar energy generated on the roof and guests can use the charger too. 🚗⚡ As bills rise, her 12 year old investment seems pretty smart today!.

Back then, battery technology wasn’t quite where it is today. Being ahead of the curve has certainly paid off for Gillian! . ☀️ @RoseDene106 #SolarPanel #ElectricVehicles #SolarPanels #RenewableEnergy #UKHospitality #SmallBusinessUK #EVCharging #ElectricCar

⚡️ Heat pumps aren’t complicated. They’re about getting the design right - then letting the system quietly keep your home comfortable. At this home in Stowerby Bridge, we met Nick from Duo Heating & Renewables, an engineer since 17.

For Nick, the magic is in the design. Size a heat pump around the home using an accurate heat-loss calculation, and it can quietly do its job in the background.🏠️ An outdoor sensor responds to the weather, while an app gives you control.

creating a calmer and safer working environment. It's a great example of why the conversation around electrification needs to be about more than technology. It's about how these changes work in real businesses, for real people, every day.

Thank you to Ellen Chew and the team at Singapulah for welcoming us and showing us just how amazing these electric technologies can be for restaurants. #ElectrifyBritain #Electrification #ElectricKitchen #Hospitality #CleanCooking #EnergyInnovation

every day. One of the biggest benefits is simplicity. An electric kitchen is easier to clean, meaning less time spent on cleaning and more time for chefs and staff to focus on what they do best: creating great food.

Electric cooking also offers greater precision and control, helping chefs achieve consistent results and the quality their customers expect. Then there's the kitchen environment itself. Moving away from gas hobs can mean less noise and fewer pollutants produced directly in the kitchen,

- leading some UK establishments to reduce hours or close completely. Facing rising bills and more intense heat, top chefs are taking the initiative. On Friday, Fiona Harvey of The Guardian spoke to restaurateurs including Chantelle Nicholson, Jeremy Pang and Ellen Chew who are spearheading

the move away to electric cooking. The benefits of electric cooking are clear: ⚡ Cooler and safer: Removes dangerous gas pollutants, lowers kitchen temperatures and prevents burns ⚡ Big savings: Reduces energy use by up to two thirds, with electric cooking potentially saving a gastropub £9,000

To give our pubs more security, and help guarantee their place in our towns and villages long into the future, we need: ⚡️ A proper electrification strategy ⚡️ Cheaper electricity  ⚡️ A faster rollout of the heating and cooking systems that run on it

☀️🔌 Plug in. Switch on. Save money. Big news for UK households: plug-in solar panels are now available to buy in shops across the UK! ⚡ More affordable than rooftop solar 🛠️ Easy to install – no engineer required 🔌 Just plug in and start generating electricity

For people living in flats with balconies, plug-in solar could offer a new way to generate their own electricity where rooftop solar isn't an option. And with energy bills rising again, every bit of savings could help.

Reacting to today's price cap rise announcement, our Director of Policy and Advocacy, Ben Westerman, reports: “Today’s cap, driven by further rises in the gas price, shows once again that the government needs to free households from dependence on oil and gas.

If Britain is serious about building a future beyond oil and gas, we can't stop at generating clean electricity. We need to help people use it. Watering down the ZEV mandate may buy time today, but it risks slowing the transition. ⚡️

EVs are better to drive, cheaper to run, better for air quality and a huge opportunity for British industry. Instead of easing targets, let's make switching easier: more affordable EVs, better charging, bigger incentives and more confidence. 🚗
