finishing up a re-watch of Battlestar Galactica, forgot that at the big finale they had a bunch of 1978 BSG Cylons on screen. 100% that was for the nerds but I appreciate it.

I love it when people ask whats wrong with a thing, I give a best-guess with a way to confirm it, they don't and simply act on my guess and then get mad when it wasn't correct, especially when the first piece of advice was "leave it TF alone".

Yup, mistakes were made. Tied the cathodes on the voltage amp and inverter together on the wrong side of a resistor. Have learned after too many little things like this to walk away and give it a look with fresh eyes.

Dammit, just got stung by a wasp. Went to open the door, didn't notice it and the sob landed on my hand and stabbed the back of my finger. Luckily I'm not allergic but it still hurts.

I think my mom is losing it. She's on a witch hunt to find out who's grey hair is in the sink drain, and she started by interrogating the guy with the shaved head. Now she's on to me with long brown hair. I'll let you guess who has grey hair.

I have a dentist appointment in 2.5 hours, I also want to do some work on a project but I know I won't be able to focus on it because I'll be paying too much attention to the clock. I guess I'll just be unproductive instead.

Every month I watch this guy put links in a PowerPoint and then completely fail to figure out how to get them on the screen. Its painful and I just don't have the patience for it anymore.

Was hoping to make use of those Knight output transformers I bought cheap but they are even worse than the Hammond ones. So I retuned things and it looks far better. Still crap iron but one can only polish a turd so much.

Measures better, sounds better, still not really enough power to make the shop JBLs jam. 11 watts on efficient speakers can be ok but these really need more than 20 to open up.

shame my parts didn't come a day earlier, then I could have done the last of the hole-cutting on my chassis and painted it while the weather was warm and dry enough for it to cure properly.

today's trip goals: 4 screws to mount something, money. Today's trip accomplishments: half the screws needed, lunch, no money. Trip pt2 goals: 2 more screws, money. 30 minute round trip to spend $1.12. The fuel will cost more.

Air springs on the Conti swapped with used parts. What came off are very shot, but what I put on may not be much better. We'll see. I didn't change the O rings either, which was probably a mistake. Will see about that too.

Today's example of how being poor is expensive: non profit I'm a member of got notice that we need to come up with about 3 months deposit on the electric bill because of past late payments. Late because there was no money, but sure we can pre pay 3 months now.

People that wait until they get to the register before trying to open whatever app on their phone and proceed to stand there trying to get it working while holding everyone else up should be launched into the sun.

moved my leg while sitting and my knee dislocated, that felt lovely. Its also got that faint soreness that makes me suspect I'm going to have problems walking tomorrow, so thats something to look forward to.

On reflection I realize this might be interpreted in a very different context. I'm specifically referring to the guy that has the key to the office supply cabinet. I'm not nearly interesting enough to be referring to the other sort of keyholder.

best work call-in ever. Was about to leave a company dinner, got a call with a problem, I literally have to drive by the place on my way home anyway, stop and he'd already figured out the problem. We talked for 5 minutes and I clocked back out.

ok found a cool terminal strip in my pile of junk, have that located, found AC balance pots, DC bias pots, selector switch for the bias meter, laid out the strips between the tubes, designed the bias, plate, and screen supplies. Need to drill more holes and probably plug one more.

one of the air springs on the Continental has decided its done. Now the question is do I try to extract the pair from my wrecked parts car or just buy new. Parts car are like 10 years old, new are about $200 for both.

I guess I should attempt to extract them, its 2 bolts and a twist-lock thing but there is significant rust, and I'd have to drag a jack over there. Also its raining so not doing any of that today.

further shopping finds new pairs for 82 bucks shipped. Yeah its aftermarket trash but I have the same ones on my Mark VII and they work. At that price its probably not worth fighting with the used junk.

stupid futon just popped another support rib. On the back this time. I re-welded several on the bottom. I get that shitty welds are no match for my fat ass but I guess my back is fat enough to be a problem too. Fix is easy, taking this POS apart to weld it is not.

Was having a nice dinner at the bar, talking about assorted BS, then it took a hard right political turn and I had to leave. I wanted lasagna and some gin, not crackpot conspiracy shit.

I guess I should just stop talking. What I say and what people think I said no longer seem to be the same thing. Unclear where the fault lies but not saying things would resolve it either way.

People that volunteered to take on an obligation and then complain endlessly about it are tiring. Also my mother is acquiring serious Karen energy in her retirement. Associate those statements as you see fit.
