Loved hearing the Habs fans booing every time our kid captain superstar touched the puck. It honestly only sounds like respect and I’m extremely here for it. Man, I wish they played each other more often!

I can’t tell if these Red Wings fans are eerily silent or if it’s just in contrast to watching a Ballhalla playoff win. Maybe both. It’s soooo quiet mid-play and there are audible cheers for Sharks goals. Baaaad vibes in Hockey Town. 😬

For the non-hockey folks, this St. Louis Blues player was involved in an assault very similar to the Cornell one. A full team of hockey players on the text thread and 8 men in the assault, 3 of whom are active NHL players. There's no good time to try redeeming them, but now is exceptionally bad.

Before 2001 my mom loved listing the many people she knew who shared her birthday. Not so much since then. We still try to give her a nice day each year, despite what the entire rest of the country is understandably focused on.

There are already articles circulating trying to rewrite history and say America was great after 9/11 and united and thoughtful and just a reminder that that period was marked by intense and insanely racist hatred, paranoia, and a frothing desire for unhinged violence and oppression.

Recently I was telling a guy that the NHL is the only men’s pro sport I follow because hockey is amazing, but that it’s hard because I hate the way sexual assault gets covered up and ignored. He was dismissive, saying “Sure, but that’s all (men’s) leagues.” Yeah, dude. That’s the fucking problem!

I get to go watch Sharks hockey the week after next and I’m counting the days like nobody’s business!
