Peculiar few days of the NHL season so far. The start is always a mess, but with the shortened pre-season even more so. Three highlights. 3. Knies with 2+1. 2. Edmonton vs Oilers playing basketball scores. 1. Bruins 2-0. 168 point season coming.

Whined about this before, but what is it with hockey broadcasters not learning names? "Aho" literally has three letters, a decade seems like a good time frame to learn that. These guys talk for a living, but learning is seemingly unacceptable.

Still haven't found an NHL reporter calling out Daly's statement for what it was, total BS. I guess in a year or two we can all be surprised about several European federations boycotting the World Cup.

Curious to see the very neutral takes of hockey reporters to Daly flatly lying about various hockey federations.

The IIHF world championship tournament doesn't have the prestige of the Olympics, but you can't say people don't care. It's a Monday evening and like 100k people are welcoming the team back home. A fourth of the population tuned in for the final late on a Sunday.

A few more hours to the final. Either my team wins or the host wins their first ever gold. Compelling either way! The Swiss coming from two straight finals losses is eerily similar to Finland getting silver in 92 and 94 only to win in 95. Let's go!

The US are really struggling in the IIHF games. Not just that the roster is not the best they could ice but they're playing like shit. I don't care about them not having their best players. Did any other team? The US are being beaten by effort. Good.

A 3-1 win. In my view dominant 5-on-5 play from Finland, but a lot of penalties. Got to clean that up. Thanks to Germany for an entertaining match!
