🤔 What if nutrients from aquaculture could become a resource for the ocean? Researchers José González and Pablo Serret from our operator #CIM took part in an experiment at the #CretaCosmos mesocosm facility of #HCMR in Crete, as part of the European @iriscc.bsky.social project.

🔬 He is investigating the reproductive health of grey mullet (Mugil cephalus) in Chilean estuarine ecosystems, using molecular biomarkers and the scientific capabilities of our facilities.

ECIMAT Director Damian Costas and our Scientific Director @estef-paredes.bsky.social hosted the visit 👉 showing them around the facilities, with a particular focus on 🧊 cryopreservation techniques, the shipment of marine biological resources and the maintenance of sea urchins as model organisms.

📣 Five recommendations to advance marine observation technologies in Europe. @embrc.eu shares key insights from #BlueTechEurope2026 in its new policy paper, outlining how to move forward and address emerging challenges.

📣 Five days to discover how far access to a research infrastructures can take you. The first @AQUASERV_RI Conference is coming, bringing together research, infrastructures and opportunities in marine and freshwater sciences.

❄️ From Spain to Hradec Králové, connecting science and research infrastructures. At @embrcspain.bsky.social, we travelled to the Czech Republic to show our support for the 62nd International Meeting of the Society for Low Temperature Biology #SLTB2026, one of Europe’s leading cryobiology meetings.

📣 From potential to real impact on society. We addressed this question at #BIOSPAIN2026 through #MARINNONET, a network we are part of that organised a roundtable on the future of #BlueBiotech in the Atlantic.

🎙️ Our operators #CIM and @pie-upvehu.bsky.social brought their expertise in sustainable aquaculture, biodiversity and bioprospecting to a discussion on how to bridge the gap between research and industry and help turn marine knowledge and resources into new biotechnological applications.

📍 Find us at #BIOSPAIN2026!  #EMBRC_Spain is in Bilbao 👉 showcasing the capabilities we make available to the scientific and business communities. 🔬🌐 Discover more about our services, research infrastructures and access opportunities at the stands of our operators #CIM and @pie-upvehu.bsky.social.

🌐 We are taking @embrcspain.bsky.social’s capabilities beyond Europe. Our operator #CIM’s participation in #COLACMAR2026 in Panama was also an opportunity to showcase our marine research infrastructures, services and resources to the scientific community across the Americas. 🔬

🤝 Cooperation also means innovation. Our operator #CIM took part in the @interreg.eu #CooperationDay, sharing the experience of #MARINNONET, 👉 a transnational network connecting partners from Spain, France, Ireland and Portugal to bring research and industry closer together in blue biotechnology. 💙

🤝 Connecting researchers & research infrastructures to open up new opportunities for Polar research. ❄️ Members of @pie-upvehu.bsky.social, an operator of #EMBRC_Spain, met monday & tuesday with the #PolarCSIC Working Group to explore new avenues for collaboration in Polar research.

🤝 At #EMBRC_Spain, we continue connecting researchers, knowledge and infrastructures to drive more sustainable aquaculture. 🧪 From cortisol analysis to proteomics and stress markers: specialised training and international collaboration to develop more reliable indicators of animal welfare.

📣A new gateway to the Strait of Gibraltar for marine research. With @inmaruca.bsky.social, #EMBRC_Spain provides scientific access to this unique marine environment, alongside infrastructures and services in environmental chemistry, marine biotechnology and oceanographic and environmental sampling.

INMAR-UCA has joined @embrcspain.bsky.social, bringing expertise in environmental chemistry, marine biotechnology, and oceanographic sampling to EMBRC. Welcome to the EMBRC network, @inmaruca.bsky.social! Learn more about INMAR-UCA at swll.to/N66U2w #MarineScience #CienciaMarina #biotechnology

📣 We work to connect marine stations, knowledge and people! Ibon Cancio, representative of the Spanish node of @embrc.eu, took part in the 3rd Biennial World Congress of Marine Stations in Canada, an event bringing together a global community of nearly 900 marine stations.
