I’m running for re-election in 2026! I believe in this city and I believe in what makes it great—you, the people who call it home. Lexington belongs to ALL of us. 💙 #EmmaForLex

🚨BIG NEWS🚨 You spoke, I listened, and I took action. Tonight, Council approved my motion to extend a moratorium on all data center construction in Fayette County through October 21, 2027. Together, we will protect our people, our resources, and our future from the threats posed by data centers.

I had a great time at tonight’s meet-the-candidates event hosted by the Lexington Urban League Young Professionals and CivicLex! As with every other public forum throughout this campaign, my opponent failed to attend. #EmmaForLex #Election2026

Lexingtonians want better roads, a fair shot at a good life, and elected officials who put the work in. They don’t want gerrymandered council districts, sexual predators in public office, or elected officials who don’t show up for work. #EmmaForLex #Election2026 #LGBTQ #Lexington #BelieveSurvivors

If you’re a Lexingtonian who has thoughts on data centers, please attend our special meeting tomorrow at 5:30pm in Council Chambers. Make your voices heard. And remember that we work for you.

Griffin and I are endorsing each other! We’ve already worked together to make our streets safer, our neighborhoods stronger, our parks more usable, and our city more joyful. Council is a team sport. No one person can do it alone and we’re lucky to have each other in it. #EmmaForLex #GriffinForLex

I don’t care about political purity testing—I just care about getting stuff done for my constituents. It was a joy and a surprise to speak with one of my favorite working writers, Grace Byron for her piece in i-D about the current state of the political left in America. i-d.co/article/is-t...

Our campaign has been endorsed by C-FAIR! As KY’s only openly #trans elected official, I’ll always fight like hell to protect our #LGBTQ+ neighbors. My opponent thinks homophobia and transphobia are winning strategies. We proved her wrong in 2024. We’re going to do it again in 2026. #election

🚨CROSS-ENDORSEMENT🚨 Stephenie Hoelscher and I are both laser-focused on making our streets safe for all to use, improving housing affordability, and ensuring that LFUCG delivers quality city services to our residents. We’re excited to support each other and about all we can accomplish together!

It was a joy to attend the Lexington Nonprofit Coalition’s Candidate Forum last night! I spoke with constituents and nonprofit leaders about my work on Council and how we can work together to build a Lexington that works for ALL of us. My opponent chose not to attend.

🚨 ENDORSEMENT ALERT 🚨 Our campaign has been endorsed by the KY Sierra Club! I’m the only candidate in this race who has worked to modernize our city’s weather response, protect our farmland from sprawl, stop AI data centers, and move us towards a sustainable future. #Sustainability #DataCenters

Folks, the first campaign finance reports of the General Election are in. We’ve out-raised our opponent by a 5-to-1 margin, we’ve received 23 times as many donations as she has, and our average donation is roughly 22% of her average donation.

Today, I attended Lexington for Everyone’s Candidate Roundtable! It was wonderful to discuss housing with industry leaders alongside current and future colleagues. I reaffirmed my commitment to tackling our housing crisis, while my opponent reaffirmed her commitment to chronic absenteeism.

Today, @kentucky.com was absolutely gutted. It’s heartbreaking for those of us who have trusted these journalists in our most vulnerable moments and it’s a devastating blow to the Fourth Estate here in Kentucky. I’m mad as hell about it and you should be too.

New from me: McClatchy laid off 12 journalists at the Lexington Herald-Leader and a majority of its positions, as a part of its deep, nationwide layoffs.

Lexingtonians have been living through a period of collective trauma as a result of recent shootings. I will always show up to support my neighbors who’ve been impacted and I will never stop fighting to end the scourge of gun violence. #EmmaForLex #EndGunViolence #MoreThanThoughtsAndPrayers

I was blessed to spend #LaborDay with colleagues and union leaders from across our city and commonwealth who are fighting for working people. Whether it’s on the picket line or in the halls of government, I will always stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them. ✊💙 #EmmaForLex #SolidarityForever

I’m humbled to be endorsed by the Lexington Professional Firefighters - IAFF Local 526. Our firefighters put their lives on the line to keep us safe every day. They deserve Councilmembers who’ll fight for them every day—not only during election season. I’m the only candidate in this race who will.

I’m running for re-election to serve my neighbors. My opponent is only running to serve herself. Can you chip in today to help us prove that Lexington wants service-minded, results-driven leaders—not self-serving wannabe career politicians? #EmmaForLex #ServiceOverSelf #Election2026 #Lexington

Throwing trans kids under the bus won’t win you an election. It will, however, get you absolutely obliterated in an otherwise winnable race against an 80-year-old incumbent. @sethmoulton.bsky.social, don’t let the door hit you on the way out 👋

NBC HAS PROJECTED THAT SENATOR ED MARKEY HAS WON HIS PRIMARY AGAINST SETH MOULTON FOR MASSACHUSETTS SENATE

Our campaign has been endorsed by @runforsomething.net! RFS is dedicated to electing leaders who will challenge the status quo, put service ahead of self, and work to secure lasting change for their neighbors. That’s how I’ve led in my first term. It’s how I’ll lead in my second term. #EmmaForLex

Last night, dozens of neighbors came to Council Chambers to express their opposition to the utilization of Flock cameras in Lexington. I took the opportunity to explain my position on the issue. I was the only Councilmember to do so. These are my full remarks.

Friends, Due to a family medical emergency, I am unable to be in Council Chambers for today’s meetings. I had hoped I could attend virtually, but I’ve been informed that this option is only available to Councilmembers who have been legally banned from entering City Hall.

Lexington’s Council will be holding a special meeting to receive public input on our Data Center ZOTA on October 6th at 5:30pm. We will not be taking legislative action on this issue before we give working people the chance to share your input with us publicly. Your voices matter most. 💙

I hope you’ll join me in praying for Di’Zohn Robertson’s family, for all of those who were injured and their families, and for all impacted by this weekend’s mass shooting. And I hope you’ll join me in showing up for them as they navigate the unthinkable. We are going to get through this together.

Friends, I’m heartbroken to share that I’ve received confirmation of a mass shooting tonight that has left at least one dead and three injured in downtown Lexington. LPD are onsite enacting our Emergency Mobilization Plan. Please join me in praying for our neighbors impacted by this tragedy.

Throwing trans people under the bus will never be a winning strategy. It’s not just cowardly and morally repugnant, it’s also politically stupid.

SCOOP: He was one of a handful of Democrats who joined Republicans in May to pass an anti-trans bill through the House. Last night, instead of listening to trans constituents at a meeting that I attended, Eugene Vindman got angry. It went downhill from there. www.advocate.com/politics/nat...

Wishing every single FCPS student, family, teacher, and staff member a wonderful first day of school tomorrow! I was proud to join Councilmember Amy Beasley, KY 120 United-AFT, and several community partners to distribute free books and school supplies to South Lexington families in need. 💙

Friends, we just built the first ever mini-roundabout in Lexington right here in the 4th District! I ran for office on a promise to fix our roads and make them safer for everyone through innovative multimodal intersection design. I’m proud to be delivering on that promise. #emmaforlex

I’m watching election coverage for the first time since my race in 2024. We’re really still stuck on the “progressive vs. moderate” debate, aren’t we? What’s it gonna take for the pundit class to realize that it doesn’t matter? Voters choose the candidates who they believe give a damn about them.

🚨ENDORSEMENT ALERT🚨 Planned Parenthood Alliance Advocates has endorsed our re-election campaign! I’m proud to be the candidate in this race who will fight for sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice for all Lexingtonians. I always have and I always will. 🩷 #EmmaForLex

On Thursday, I attended all 6 hours of the Planning Commission’s public hearing on #DataCenters. I reminded the commissioners that we serve our people, not private corporations. And I assured them that I will bust my ass to pass a policy that fully protects our people, our city, and our resources.

I’m honored to be recognized as a 2026 Principled Candidate. Many in politics, including in this race, choose to sow fear, spread conspiracies, and cast doubt on our elections. On our campaign, we are leading with integrity and upholding the principles that make our democracy strong. #EmmaForLex

I’m humbled to be recognized as a Mental Health Now Candidate. From sponsoring our city’s Mental Health Court to ensuring mental health services are available to folks of all backgrounds, I’ve worked hard to improve the mental health of our city. And I’ll keep at it in my second term. #EmmaForLex

When I decided to run for office, I was told repeatedly that I couldn’t win in Kentucky because of my gender. I disagreed—and so did the voters in Lexington’s 4th District. With Pride Month behind us, remember that your success cannot be predicted based on who you love or what your gender is. 🏳️‍🌈💙🏳️‍⚧️

Council just unanimously voted to approve my Animal Care Ordinance! Now, abused pets will no longer be returned to owners facing criminal abuse or neglect charges. Now, it is illegal to leave pets unattended in extreme weather conditions. Now, pets in Lexington are safer than they were before.

I was proud to officially open the newly rebuilt tennis and pickleball courts at Belleau Woods Park! Our district has waited a long time for these courts, with the project being passed from Councilmember to Councilmember over several years. I’m humbled to be the one to finally see it through. 💙

In the past 2 days, I have: ✅ Held a public meeting with hundreds of Lexingtonians saying “no” to data centers 🙅‍♀️ ✅ Unanimously passed my sponsored ordinance to protect abused animals out of Work Session 🦮 ✅ Advanced new design standards for safer streets across our city 🛣️ (1/2)

✅ Hosted a Community Pop-Up to provide resources to underserved neighborhoods on the north side of my district 🏘️ ✅ Cut the ribbon on the new tennis courts in Belleau Woods Park that my office secured 🎾 This work isn’t about ego, it’s about service. And I’m grateful that I get to do it. (2/2)
