Back on the apps and decided to pay for a month. Already have had 3 men “swipe right” on me with almost nothing in their profile except for not being interested in/attracted to trans women (out of 3k+ likes). Really contemplating matching w/ them just to screw with their heads.

Don’t suppose there are any Dublin Ireland based #radiologists who’d like to give me a tour of their department while I’m here? #radiology #neuroradiology #medicine

Went to look for larger CFexpress B cards for my camera for an upcoming trip. A 512 gb card is between 400 and 500 dollars. AI is really doing everything in its power to make me hate it with a deep fiery passion.

So far, both of the cities I’ve moved to who have pro basketball teams have had massive turn arounds and have won the eastern conference finals within a short time of me moving there. So, if anyone wants to pay me a lot of money to move to your city to help your team, just let me know.

Sure is a shit ton of anti-trans legislation getting rammed through that I’m not hearing a single cis person actually meaningfully protest. They’re coming for you next.

All other sports organizations and teams should watch how teams are responding to #USArugby transphobic knee bend and follow suit. Anything less is cowardice.

Photographed my friend’s wedding (first time) while also being a pseudo-bridesmaid (she didn’t have formal bridesmaids). Mostly on film, but some of the digital photos are turning out okay.

It is legit insane that heavily armed men carrying rifles w/ at least 3 mags and a sidearm with probably 2 additional mags are strolling around US cities enforcing what are generally misdemeanors.

It is increasingly difficult to mask my disdain for the “all gas, no brakes” approach to AI in radiology/healthcare, as well as the complete unwillingness to earnestly address or even consider the long term negative consequence.

Maturity and growth is searching for a more polite word than “circle jerk” to describe something in a professional email. I’m very proud of myself. Old Emma probably just would’ve let’er rip.

I got called a “main customer” at Russ and Daughters today after one of the employees saw me enter to pick up my order and it may be the single most flattering thing anyone has said to me.

Med students, residents, & attendings: You’re never too good to help other people & there is no job or task that is beneath you. This doesn’t mean an obligation to do endless scut, but just be a good citizen. Those techs, nurses, & others are your team members & can teach you A LOT.

I’ve pushed stretchers, refilled water, fetched supplies, and helped carry stuff, amongst other tasks, so many times over the years. Don’t accept abuse, but also don’t be a jerk.

Being incapable of accepting compliments, I never really believe anyone who tells me I’m a good photographer or that most of my stuff is that good, but I’m actually kinda proud of many of my photos over the last week. #photography #streetphotography

The medical note phrasing “complains of” really bothers me. It isn’t a complaint or some trivial grievance being aired. It is their experience. Especially silly with trauma. “C/O of stab wound”….that’s a thing that happened.

Yes, I know in the context of healthcare it tends to mean “to describe something that hurts or makes one feel ill”, but the broader connotation is often interpreted more negatively.

Every now and then I walk through somewhere in my neighborhood and have a really magical experience with a sense of community where I’m reminded why I love NYC. Had that in Tompkins Square Park this morning.

Wearing my work jacket (a big Jewish medical system) while getting food and a woman called me a “f*cking Jew lover.” Gotta say, the old school antisemitism was a refreshing change from transphobia. Must be looking kinda cute today.

Not that I have a ton of followers on here, but what are your favorite substacks for journalism? I’m trying to diversify my news sources and want to support real journalism since the big ones are seemingly all trash now.
