Walter Koenig has died. He was always underrated by most, but if you ever saw his turn as Bester on Babylon 5, you knew just how good he was. JMS knows too.

Magic – 7 One aspect of living in North Carolina that I truly enjoy is the ability to experience all four seasons. Yes, summer is getting longer and hotter, but we get to have spring, summer, autumn, and winter and I'm grateful for that. Right now, we're having a gorgeous fall day following two…

Game day! New day in the Sinking City and a new case for everyone's favorite slinks. Let's go!! #ttrpgsky #ttrpg #SwordsoftheSerpentine #PelgranePress

Sinking City & Sly Traders | Mystery 10: Seeing For What Thy Are - Giovanni sees a future he cannot unsee and finds himself entangled with black feathered truths. Meanwhile, Sal and Amalia continue their infiltration of a secret dock in Harbor Approach with their sin in tow. www.twitch.tv/corbinion

Game day! We've defeated the vampire, now let's see if we can get some coin before we get out! Playing #SwordsoftheSerpentine from @pelgranepress.bsky.social. #ttrpgsky #rpg #games

Hey @tabcreations.com, just got my Shadows over Sol 2e box set, and this thing is gorgeous! Thanks gang - really well done! #ttrpgsky #ttrpg #ShadowsOverSol

Game Day! Today we dive deep under the city to win some allies and gain some wealth! Undead lurking in an ancient underwater sepulcher? That seems unlikely... #ttrpgsky #ttrpg #SwordsoftheSerpentine #PelgranePress

Game day! We've made some friends, but we've also made some powerful enemies. Time to see if we can thread that needle and come out with our skins. Let's go! #ttrpgsky #ttrpg #SwordsoftheSerpentine #SotS #PelgranePress

Magic – 6 At the start of this year, I announced my intention to make this my "year of magic." That can mean many things, of course. This post is about a very particular kind of magic. Long ago and far away, I taught film classes and I hit upon the idea of centering the class around different…

America: It was fun while it lasted. I mean, 250 years isn't even that good of a run. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/24/u...

Game day. While my sorcerer was... busy... my companions found some sea-borne assassins & managed to get captured. One escaped, but the other remains in the foul clutches of our enemies. I swear, you leave them alone for one minute! #ttrpgsky #ttrpg #SwordsoftheSerpentine #SotS #PelgranePress

Yeah, Lil' Donny's a Big Man. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/10/u...

Magic – 5 At the start of this year, I declared that this would be my "Year of Magic." I wasn't sure what that was going to look like and I'm still not positive. I'm not interested in learning stage magic - card tricks, making a coin disappear, that sort of thing - but I am interested in being…

Game day! We just need one more piece of evidence to nail the Iron Mongers Guild for selling substandard iron as high quality to builders in Eversink. Methinks a heist is in our future! #ttrpgsky #ttrpg #rpg #SotS #PelgranePress

Game day! I was out last week, so lets find out what shenanigans my friends got up to. #ttrpgsky #ttrpg #Gumshoe #SwordsoftheSerpentine #PelgranePress

Today I learned how to make traditional river cane blowguns and darts.

New day, new game! Session Zero for Swords of the Serpentine - let's do this! #ttrpgsky #rpg #ttrpg #SotS #PelgranePress

The Essentials – A Whimsy List I have written before about the importance of whimsy as an Essential on the Diva path. (Remember, you can search for all the Essential posts by using the search bar.) However, I think it's a great time to re-visit that with a bit more detail and discuss the…

One Good Thing For years, I had a quote by Samuel Johnson painted on my fireplace mantel - "To be happy at home is the ultimate result of all ambition." When my Beloved and I moved to this house, I didn't paint that on this mantel; I like to think I've worked to inscribe it on my heart, but some…

"It's been a long road," but "I _can_ live with this!" 1/3300 scale Deep Space 9 kit from 1994 is complete! This one asked a lot & had so many issues that it had subscriptions, but at the end of the day, that made the final product more satisfying! #plamo #scalemodels #StarTrekmodels #DS9 #StarTrek

One Good Thing Taking a slight break from painting. It's been more than 100 days since I worked on a puzzle, so I took some time this weekend to do that. A friend and I took advantage of the clear, hot days to meet up for chat and ice cream in the nearby town of Boiling Springs (aka "Bubblin'…

Game day! My character has been taken over by a rouge nanogram, and am directed to capure my colleague. Hopefully she can stop me! #ttrpgsky #ttrpg #rpg #DreamsandMachines #Modiphius

When It Comes Together Building the life I want to live has taken - and continues to take - time. I find that it is valuable to take a beat to occasionally stop and look around at how the landscape looks. On Thursday, for example, I celebrated one year at my "new" job. They seem quite happy with…

Game day! So, turns out that respirators weren't enough to protect from the strange pink mist. Now we got nanomachines burrowing into us, so.... help! #DreamsandMachines #ttrpgsky #ttrpg #rpg #Modiphius

May your Pride be glorious! Qapla' nerds! #pride #StarTrek #love

Game day - AND - new game! We're playing Dreams & Machines, far future, post-apocalypse on a formerly very high tech planet. Let's go! #ttrpg #ttrpgsky #rpg #DreamsandMachines #Modiphius #2d20

@kdale-guffey.bsky.social was honorably mentioned at the Art Council's annual show last week!

We're saying goodbye to this beautiful girl today. Bebop was the very best of cats, & I have been lucky enough to be her person for the last 13 years. Rest well, little golden-eyed girl. I'm so happy you came to live with us.

Things are getting messy on the station! #scalemodels #scifimodels #StarTrekmodels #plamo #AMT #DS9 #StarTrek

One Good Thing Today's OGT was feeling appreciated at work. I'm taking a long weekend to celebrate my 16th wedding anniversary with my Beloved (for some truly bizarro reason, wax is the traditional gift. Not sure about that one. Maybe I'll receive a bag of Babybel cheeses), so I was trying to…

Game day! Corporate is up to something, and so are... "other entities." We employees? Stuck right slam in the middle of colliding conspiracies! #ttrpgsky #trpg #rpg #TriangleAgency #HauntedTableGames

One Good Thing In the last week or so, I've had several new things that are designed to make it a little easier to have touches of elegance in my everyday life arrive. I consider all of these Good Things, so I'm grouping them into a single post - why not? First, I have irises in gorgeous full…

Main detail painting is done. Pleased over all, though the yellow details on the inner rings turned out brighter than I wanted, but the wash will tone them down & dirty them up. Next up, it's time to work on the ops and reactor subassemblies! #scalemodels #scifimodels #plamo #StarTrek #DS9 #AMT

Game day! There is a conspiracy here somewhere, but where? Or is it a conspiracy wrapped within agitprop buried in a secret. Who knows? I'm playing a cat. Meow, man. Meow. #ttrpgsky #ttrpg #rpg #TriangleAgency #HauntedTableGames

The Essentials – Pleasure Every now and again, I add a post here that centers on something I consider to be an "Essential" in the Splendor journey. (You can search for all of these Essential posts using the search bar, if you'd like to read more.) This post is one of those. You see, I thought it…
